It's a game! It's a trivia quiz!
Name a specific year and model car (or truck) in which the difference between the smallest factory-available engine and the largest was HUGE!
I'll start the game with my first car, a '74 Chevy Malibu.
The smallest engine was the 250ci I-6
The largest engine was a 454ci V-8
For a displacement spread of 204ci.
Who can top this?

71 Barracuda
Smallest was a 198ci /6
Biggest was a 440ci V8
Difference of 242ci.
Unless this is cars you've actually owned.

Nah, I just wasn't clear. Any car or truck is fair game.

Hmm, this may stretch it...
The '97 Dodge Ram could be had (in half-ton) with a 251CI V-6. If a 3/4 ton might be considered the same model, It could be had with a 488ci V-10.
that's a 251CI difference.
68-70 Chevy Nova- 153ci 4 cylinder up to a 402ci V8- with a 427 available with the proper COPO number and connections within GM..

Ah. Jogged my memory you did.
05 Dodge Ram.
Smallest is a 226 ci V6
Biggest is a 505ci V10.
Bingo bango, difference of 279 cubic inches.
1970 Mustang
200CI I-6
429CI V8
229 CI difference

In the "officially imported" category:
I nominate the 1975 Mercedes W116 chassis.
The 280SE had a 171ci I-6
The 450SEL 6.9 had a 417ci V-8
246 cubic inch difference.
top that?

In reply to EvanR:
Going by Chassis codes the R129 in 95 I think.
Same 170 ci six but with a 445 ci V12 available.
275ci difference.
any 13b RX-7
Reported by Mazda @ 1308cc
Taxed in Japan at 1962cc
Constantly argued to actually be 3924cc (if all cycles are counted during the 1080 degrees of crankshaft rotation)
Difference of 2616cc or TRIPPLE the original displacement.
(and I didn't even change engines )
Fox body mustang. 2.3L four to a 5.7l 8

There is so much mind blowing in that post it needed two Ps in triple.

Dammit I went right to the Ram with the V10. I don't think you're going to find another car with a difference of 4.6L. That's a whole Mod motor!

Don't think the Fox Body Mustang ever came with a 351-W...
1977 AMC Gremlin
Smallest engine was the 2.0L Audi 4-cylinder (122 ci) from the 924 and the largest was the 401 V8 from the Randall X-R, a spread of 279ci!
That's a little unfair though, as the X-R was a psuedo-factory dealer-installation.
The Nova is probably going to be it. Hard to beat a tiny 6 all the way to the biggest big-block.

Correct. 2.3 to 5.0L
I was thinking the Dakota came with a 150-ish inch 4cyl to a 360 V8. So that makes 210....

Brah, the Ram mentioned above tied your cheater setup and beat the Nova!
Ok, I can do a couple more ci better...
You can get this with a 466ci engine or a 758ci engine for a.... 292ci difference.

This is the biggest that I know of.
Not the biggest but third generation Camaro 2.5L four to a 5.7L V8.
How about stuff that is available RIGHT NOW??

Wasn't there a Cobra R with one? Or a Saleen model?
