Hey folks. As of 10:30 today, I've been laid off again. I've been in IT for about 15yrs and have been laid off now a total of 3 times( not bad considering the trend for my sector... ). So if anybody knows of any IT related positions in North Carolina, please let me know. My wife just got a promotion and a raise so we're not quite ready to leave the state yet. I've spent the bulk of my career as a network admin, but my last position was as a test engineer( network and software ). No certs yet, but now is a good time to finish up my CCNA. Thanks in advance for your help.

Hey, another NC GRMer Sorry to hear about your situation, I will keep an ear out for ya.
Not that this will make you feel better, but 3 times in 15 years isn't bad at all... I WAS is mortgage finance, and I'm in the middle of my 3rd layoff in as many years. This last time, my final paycheck even bounced! (I did get a good paycheck finally... Thanks for nothing Lehman. ) And my fiance is also out of work.
I feel your pain, good luck.
Not in NC, but we need IT people in Indy.
Yeah, I know three times isn't bad. I don't mean to sound like I'm complaining b/c I'm not. I know people that have gone through much worse. My situation could def. be alot worse. It's still kinda surreal right now, but it is what it is. Just gotta make sure I use it to my advantage. I was honestly kinda tired of working where I was anyway. We were down four people and had more work( each having shorter deadlines ) daily. I feel bad for the people still there. FIrst time I've ever worked w/ such a diverse group of people and everybody had each others' back when it came to getting things done. For the most part we worked great together and pretty much liked each other.
Nocarbud...
I'm sorry about your situation. Are you planning a career change or are you staying in finance? What did your fiance do?
PeteG ...

What kind of work? I don't have any formal certifications, but know my way around pretty well. Any entry level that you think they would even remotely look at me for?
I'm not hurting for a job, just like to keep my options open. :)
I'm not over the IT part of our company, but I believe they're looking for Helpdesk as well as Engineer positions, oh and sales people too.
And I'm looking for a copier/printer tech for Indy also.
I feel your pain and wish you the best.
We need IT folks but we cannot hire. love the economy.
