I developed a small spraying leak at my well last night which I hope is as simple are retightening the fitting, but knowing me it will require replacing a huge amount of pipe.

It is a galvanized fitting in an upside down U shape. What I believe is in the middle of that U is the one way valve. It looks just like a thicker set of pipe.

But I have 90 degree galv. fittings on either end of this with an all threaded joint fitting to connect the 2. I'm praying that they use reverse threads on either end and when I turn it, it will either tighten or loosen both ends because otherwise I'm not sure how you get it tight on both ends.

It appears to be coming from the threads so my first thought was that they didn't use enough of that caulky pipe thread stuff or it just needs tightening. A spot weld would fix it, but if it's starting to corrode inside then that would only create major issues for dismantling.

The well and all it's equipment is less than 6 years old so I'm praying it's not just a shell of itself.

If anyone has any great words of wisdom I'm all ears otherwise I'm about to dive right in.

First to tear down the well that encases the pump and then see what tools I need. Wish me luck.

No, the joins don't work like a turnbuckle which meant I had to disconnect the fittings at the Pex. Thank you Pex, you bend. This way I could just turn the 90 degree piece. Piece of cake!

After taking it apart I see that I probably could have just tightened the join, but since I've got it apart I might as well put a new one in and then if there was some not so apparent water wear on the threads I won't have to do this again at a probably even more inconvenient time.

So for about $25, and that includes buying a new, bigger crescent wrench I was able to not only replace what I had, but also add a T so that when I get around to it, I have the outlet needed for a pond filler &/or sprinkler system.

But I see what the problem was. When you tighten the big T it's not completely tight when it's at 90 degrees, it needs about 10 more degrees, but you can't turn it anymore or line up with the Pex. They cut the Pex so that it won't go any higher or accept another angle.
