Have to go to a conference in November. They have me in the Westin Westminster on Westminster Blvd. A quick Google tells me that is a nice hotel but not near anywhere. With my airmiles I can stay free at the Crown Plaza which is on Glenarm Place. They say its down town but it looks sort of outskirts of town to me. So what should I do? It would be nice to be near some bars or entertainment, but I also need to catch an early flight on Monday morning so an escape route would be good too. I can also do Hiltons, Holiday Inns and Embassy Suites for free.

Didn't Hank Williams Jr. OD in Denver? Not enough to actually kick off, but close...that's about all I got, since I've only been in SW Colorado.

Sorry, can't help with Denver. As far as I'm concerned, it consists of a particular mall preferred by my wife and a hotel in an anonymous industrial park where I stay before going out to High Plains Raceway.

Ya no, I have a berkeleying industrial gro op across the road from me. Guard dogs, flood lights, cameras, 24 hour a day stench, notices that trespassers will be shot.... Don't need to go to Denver to see more of the same, but thanks anyway. Beer and girls on the other hand....

Wrong time of the year, but Bandimere Speedway is a wonderful place to watch big time drag racing.

Tiny city just west of Charlotte nc not much to do there, some good back roads for hooning though. Good luck

Airport is half an hour from downtown. That may turn into an EARLY flight.

We stayed at the Sheraton downtown. It is a big convention-type hotel, but it is right at the end of the 16th street pedestrian mall. There is a free trolley that runs up and down the mall to Larimer Square. Lots to see and do along there, including bars and restaurants.

As noted, it is a long way from the airport, but so is everything else.
