I'm stuck in SC this weekend, and can't make it home. I have been burning the candle at both ends, and need a break badly.

I'm thinking about a minor road trip to Charleston Fri evening, or Saturday all day.

Any suggestions?

Aircraft carrier self guided walking tour at Patriot's Point if you like awesome military hardware.

I have family outside of town, but I do not recommend visiting them

Downtown is great, if you like beaches Isle of palms is great though a bit touristy, Ashely beach is about 10 or so minutes south of downtown, If you like beer Westbrook brewing on just on the other side of Daniel island is fantastic, its just a great city to walk around and explore.

Patriots Point gets a plus 1. You can spend most of the day out there. Downtown is cool if you like old cities. Lots of historical buildings and houses.

For beaches, I'd hit Folly Beach, south of town. It will be crowded no matter which beach you choose.

I'd play tour guide, but I'm going to be in Myrtle for a autocross. If you want to make that run, I can shoot you the address.

+3/4 whatever for Patriot's Point. I spent about 4/5 hours there and felt like I was just scratching the surface. Go Saturday, go early. Parts of the ship get pretty hot in the afternoon sun.
