Mrs. DX has a conference at Disney in October and I'll have some time to kill one day and I've never been to Daytona Intl Raceway and saw they give tours. Anybody done it? Anything else in the Daytona area to see? I've seen Cape Canaveral before.

Interested, as we have an upcoming vacation to Daytona Beach planned, as well!

It's cool, worth a few hours.

Since you mention it, I've driven nearly two hours multiple times to go to the Space Center. I'm looking at the Speedway grandstand as I type this and don't see any reason I would want to repeat the tour.

The tour is good if you've never been to a super-speedway.  You'll get access to some cool spots, but as a car guy you'll be left wishing you could take a couple of laps or hang out and look at the details in the amazing garages.  It's a FL-tourist thing for casual fans and vacationers, but better than most alternatives for us.  Turn left out of the speedway and you'll find an LKQ.  Turn right out of the speedway and you'll find the Brickyard Lounge, best dive bar burgers in the area.  That's all I got.  Oh, and the GRM office if during the week.

GRM office was my first spot to check out naturally! I've never been to a super speedway before so maybe this will check that box. Closest one I've been to is driving by Dover on the highway.

The tour is kinda cool at least once.  Getting up on the banked turns and getting to see just how steep they are was cool.

and daytona LKQ "junkyard" is good. Im a regular there.

There is a few of us in the area.

I've never done the actual tour, but I suggest taking a look at the track calendar when you're going to be nearby.  Ideally, if SCCA or other groups are racing or running a track day you may be able to find a connection that can get you more hands-on experience.
