I guess that's why they say moving is the most stressful thin you can do! I'm definitely culling a lot of furniture with the exception of 1 couch, 2 love seats, and a chair. I know they will fit and 'work' in the new house because it's my brothers old house so I'm quite familiar with it.

I like the upack/pods idea, we wouldn't need the stuff immediately anyway since we already moved many of the essentials in my old van (clothes, dishes, toiletries, etc).

I see what you mean about selling the cars, you want me to post my rust free, low mileage, all original 323 GTX up for sale so you can snatch it up! No deal! . It would make things easier though.

Sadly I have nobody to cover moving expenses but the new career path already pays better than anything I did before (mostly school) so I'm not too worried.

There is a thread of bad experiences with Uhaul around somewhere, only a month or two back. NEVER AGAIN.

Wife and I are doing a more local move and using Budget for the second time. Last move was from Pittsburg to the DC area and the truck rental was only ~$250 or so. I think I may have spent more in gas than on the truck, but I can't recall.

This time we are moving from north of DC to south of DC, so a semi-local move (about 70 miles) and the truck rental is about $200 through them, but we havent dived as deeply on discounts yet.

Last time I pulled up Retail Me Not and got a discount code that ended up being AARP, showed up and the guy at the counter questioned it as I was in my mid-upper 20's and laughingly approved it. Saved quite a bit and IIRC deeply discounted insurance as well.

Ok upack seems good, but scheduling seems like an issue. there's a Penske place near both locations, however, so pickup and drop off will be easy, and they have unlimited 1 way mileage. under $900 for a 26 footer, should be more than enough after paring down on large crap like furniture. Good deal?

Fit everything you can in one car. Ship the other. Cannonball for 26 hours straight. Sell whatever you can replace. Give away the rest. You can always get more E36 M3.
