Before I was happy to just make some silly comments about not moving to Orlando because it's so terrible. However, as a native Floridian I have to say you crossed the line here pal. You can make a statement like that about some shiny happy person from any state. I'm sorta sick of people bagging on Florida and then clamoring to move here. If we're all such shiny happy people and the state sucks so bad then I heartily recommend you stay in whatever godforsaken frozen tundra you come from; it'll certainly improve my morning commute.

I do apologize if you took that wrong. Much like people have stereotypes about theverything frozenot tundra up here (it actually got into the 70s today) people have misconceptions about everything.

Listen. Everyone. I asked a simple thread. I wanted to know about moving to florida. You asked why. I replied. I don't lie. I don't pull punches. I don't honestly care if you hate me. I could have sato and blown a bunch of smoke up everyone's asses, but that's not how I roll. I'm moving halfway across the country because it's the right decision for me. End of story. I'm glad everyone else knows how to live my life for me, shoulda started doing it about 20 years ago. Saved me a lot of trouble.

For the rest of you.......carry on. I may or may not post from prison.

enjoy prison, but if you don't make it there before this weekend bring your amy to the challenge and do some spectating.

If we don't end up in Vero, I plan to.

Most people would have replied 'personal reasons I don't want to talk about online' Then this could have been a great and POSITIVE thread on Florida.

You've got a road in front of you, and I don't believe that is going to be a particularly smooth one.

But I do wish you the best of luck sir, If you guys are at the hotel Friday night or Saturday I've got a beverage for you. Look for the Mumpkin shirts.

As a fellow nerd who grew up in an abusive home situation, I completely understand the need to grab hold of your life and go your own direction, hardships and judgements of others be damned. Though I might not agree with every choice you have made, I respect you for making them. I wish you the very best in this new chapter of your life.

Ok so, I just landed in Minnesota on my birthday. I hate this state. Wife flaked on a ride from the airport, again. There's a reason she's gone be mrs. Ex mndsm.

I learned some interesting things though. You can get the weirdest cars there. I spotted what had to have been a late 70s corolla wagon at walmart. Spotless. I spent a lot of time cruising cl for crap I can't buy up here. Early BMW wagons are winning.

I really, really like florida. Like, a lot. I know, it was a vacation. But, I am berkeleying built for that place. Where I'm stationed, I have every thing close. I have my own unlimited free pass to Disney. There's nonrust, and no snow. Though people do seem to ask a lot for junk there. At least Atlanta is closer. Guns are really easy to get. Good for me. Amy was in the military for a spell, she's ok with guns.

Seafood. Zomg. All the seafood.

Basically, this is the right place for me. So, while this thread may have been derailed, I wholly agree that florida is the jam.

Also....I was right about amy. Perfect for me.

Seriously. No way I'd be picking up my soon-to-be ex from the airport after an out of state fling with their Amy. Once the big "D" is agreed upon, they'd be on their own. But clearly I'm not a compassionate person.

Side note: MNDSM, I'm eagerly awaiting your autobiography. This thread delivers.

lol. I wonder if its related to her husband ditching her and their joint special needs son to the vagaries of welfare while claiming he'll be a better parent from the other end of the country?

Finished it off for you.

In reply to Adrian_Thompson: How's the view from that high horse? I swear some of the posts on this thread are berkeleying cruel. Unless and until we've all walked in MNDSMs shoes we all need to cut him some slack, I can't imagine what soul searching must have gone into this move and busting his balls repeatedly doesn't help anyone.

I can cut anyone slack for wanting out of a bad marriage, I've been divorced and I don't know a single case where the break down of a marriage has been single sided. I also don't advocate staying in a relationship for a child, but you don't abandon your kids. Simple as that. No slack to be cut for abandoning a child, man up and stay local for the kid.

My folks got divorced when I was 10 and dad moved to Cape Cod (a thousand miles away). Contrary to what you make it sound like, I never felt "abandoned". Rather I got to go spend my entire summer with him in a neat place. I honestly felt it was a better situation than the kids (like mine) who are forced to do some BS weekend shuffle, always going back and forth.

Kids are a lot tougher than we give them credit for but continuity in their lives is huge. Getting bigger blocks of time with each parent can be better for all involved than court mandated every-other-weekend. So again, his shoes, his life, his way.

And if I decided to fight for him, and win (I would...but it would demolish his mother and I'm not that mean) and take him to florida with me, I'm an shiny happy person for ripping him from family and friends. I know I'm not winning this one. That's not the point. The point is, I'm doing for me. Having me miserable and reclusive isn't terribly effective.

In any event, I've made my choice. I am also planning for the contingency that I will be coming back for my son, soon. I'm giving mommy what she wants, but if this week is any indication, she's gonna come unglued when I'm gone for good.

Sigh, I really don't want to post again, but in any case...

If you've followed mndsm's self absorbed postings over the years, you'll have noticed that he basically espoused nothing but love and affection for his (former) wife. How they had it made, how their lives were going swimmingly, how he was a (lazy, selfish, deadbeat) stay at home dad (not that being a stay at home dad is bad, but being the other things are). He basically reveled in how awesome everything was, because he just looked after the kid and that was it (and that's what he's told us, if it's to be believed).

In short, he got tired of his position in life VERY quickly and basically flipped from "everything is awesome" to "my wife is a bitch and my life is awful". The fact that any of you believe anything this guy says is hilarious, and even worse that so many encourage him. He's a narcissistic selfish shiny happy person.

Hell, just reading his dickishness makes me want to come unglued, I couldn't imagine being married to such a self-absorbed dickhead.

I haven't posted in over a month and will continue to not post after this one, but your delusions of grandeur are berkeleying unreal. Consistently through most threads you have made or talked about of your lifestyle over the years, its quite obvious you are a selfish person, quit trying to butter it up any other way. You took advantage of, not helped, a woman and left her as another statistic as a single mother. I don't care what bullE36 M3 crap you can contrive up of your "experience" with the welfare system. Jesus, you are an awful person. And a large reason why I decided to remove myself from this board, because of the awful behavior it tolerates and supports. There, I said it, even though most the board was thinking it, just that the forum-police will probably datsun1500 me.

Oddly, posts like this very one are one of the big reasons I rarely visit. So many closed minded, and self righteous people on this forum, I couldn't take it any more. The constant fighting and bickering is the other. Now, the quoted post from mndsm, I can get onside with 100%, and have oft said myself.
