I have been looking sometime now for a wiring harness, I bought one off of Ebay, but those junk guys on there don't know a M3 from a 02 and once you bought it, it is yours. you can tell them how to tell which harness you want by looking for a specific plug or number, "oh no we don't do that", what you see is what you get, a big ball of wires. I called one of these upscale BMW recyclers and they want $2500.00, there has to be a better way. I am looking for a BMW 2002 E46 M3 6 speed Manual Coupe (interior) harness. you might think a 03 would work but wrong my friend the main modular control plug exits the passenger side fire wall, in 03 they changed it to exit the drivers side fire wall. well just extend says you, ok says I....oh the plugs are different and the wire color is not the same............move your abs system from side to side, says you, over my head says i.

All I want is the driver's side kidney grille insert from a post-facelift E46 sedan. But this thread is relative to my interests.
I have purchased from Vines Automotive and been happy with the transaction. YMMV
Have I got the guy for you. South Hampton Imported Cars in South Hampton, NJ. They can help with just about any part. The guy who kind of runs the show is named Collin, but anyone there should be able to help. It's a family business that has focused on BMWs since they first showed up in the US. They also compete in road racing and stage rallies with various BMWs.
Anyway, he knows BMWs inside and out, great customer service and is very fair price-wise. Sold me an M3 tranny, driveshaft, diff and shifter linkage for a great price.
Their website is a little sketchy, but they're good people. http://southamptonimportedcars.jimdo.com/

I've also purchased quite a few things from these guys and been happy.
I purchased an S52 ('98 M3 motor) for my E30 swap. It popped the headgasket after about 300 miles. They sent me a headgasket kit and reman'd head to make the swap free of charge.
So they do stand behind their warranty.
