Something like this is etching itself into my brain as a next project. 600cc bike engine - transverse leaf springs... Just trying to figure out cheap sources for things like the suspension uprights and wheels (look like 16" and fairly narrow - scale of the car is around something like an 80" wheelbase) and wrap my head around the steering. Any thoughts on sources or where to find wheels/hubs/brakes (drums)?

I think the Jag. XK120 had 16" wire wheels. Not sure of the width. Prob. 5.5 or 6".

Just a thought, and you will probably hate it, but Triumph Spitfires used bolt on wire wheels...if you went with those you could (in therory) use any small brake disc/drum drilled as necessary. Aside from appearance, the downside is that Spitfire wheels aren't that wide, but with such a small/light car, do you need the weight of wide wheels?

That's sweet! Are you building it from scratch? Do you have plans for it?
