What do you do with the car? Weekend stuff? Driving to work stuff? For $30k in costs over that time period I'd be looking at something older and exotic, but only if coming home on a flatbed wouldn't completely ruin my day.
I guess I don't look at a 430 Spider and a Viper as competing with each other which makes me think there might be other options.

Some guys cross shop everything...I'm that type. Last time I went looking for a viper I bought a 930. More recently I was very serious about an 05 cl65 and ended up putting a deposit on an F car. Now I'm looking at really crappy semi trucks..... My wife NEVER knows what I'm coming home with lol.

I'm a bit unpredictable myself, I went shopping for a van and ended up with a CTS-V Wagon.
And I think I really want a deuce and a half.

Edit: or a seven seat Accord wagon!
Or maybe I SHOULD buy a van.
Or an old Willys Jeep.

For a fun toy they both hit the same buttons. If you saw all the weird cars I own you would understand that I have eclectic and varied taste.

Between those two I think the Viper is the better buy. I usually try and plot price decline curves on cars that I'm interested in, and I admit that I haven't done that on any recent Ferraris, but I get the feeling that you're on a steeper part of the curve with the F-430 than you are with the Viper especially with the Viper not having a successor for now.

I suppose I need to have a talk at the Secretary of State's office when I'm up there next.

You can most likely take care of renewal online, just need to have the notices forwarded to you. I haven't set foot in the SOS for plate renewal in a few years.

I would note that they're trying to raise registration fees here in order to "fix the roads." I have actually looked at the Montana LLC thing as well.
