Lol another famous Javi statement of fact gets squashed with actual fact

Just puttin' that out there with nothing to back it up? Good internettin' there, woof.
Ford did take DOE money to develop the plug-in and EV models.
Anyway, the Ford issues aren' twith Sync, but withthe My FordTouch portion of th eprogram, and only affect teh models offered with that optional system.
Lastly, can we get a comparison to what is or isn't actually reliable? Modern cars are vastly better at this than cars of even 10 years ago, so even the worst cars on the list tend to be better than the better models of the past. Without a real frame of reference other than "it's the worst new car" there's nothing in it to say "this car is worse than a 40 year old MGB that's been sitiing in a barn for a decade..."

More Javelin ball-busting. I had started a thread about F-150s where he proceeded to chastise everyone who didn't agree the Ram 1500 was God's greatest gift to trucks approximately half a dozen times throughout the thread.

I believe we were talking about taking bail out money. All automakers take gooberment money at one time or another to develop new technologies.

Money was loaned to Ford, but it was more an action that banks were tied up like someone with the worst constipation ever. Ford Credit needed a line of cash as collateral. Javi likes to point that small thing out. Zombi obviously knows about it, too.
The DOE money is a totally different thing. One where data generated by that will be shared with the DOE, aka- you. Well, stuff that can be shared.
In reply to alfadriver:
The way you explain it, it sounds like they needed a standard line of credit, something companies do all the time. Was that considered bail out money?
In reply to bravenrace:
Depends on who you ask. Most would not, but I'm sure there's a group who were offended by the loan. I don't.
But one could easily extend the GM and Chrysler bailout to us- if not for that, I think Ford would have been forced to close doors, too. Too many suppliers would have been lost in an instant.

Yeah, I remember talk about that at the time. But I guess we're getting a little off topic at this point..

Right- this is about Ford electronics sucking big wind.
(yes, it makes me very, very mad- moreso when it groups tech I've worked on that is good with bad stuff and lumps all into one. And it hurts profit sharing a lot)

I am so glad someone called them on this. That is my one gripe about the Hyundai/Kia brand. Textures of the interiors fell cheap and they rattle.

I completely disagree. On our 4th now and I have my first rattle in the Forte. That's likely due to the suspension beating the ever loving crap out of it.
Paint, on the other hand, well that's been E36 M3ty forever. But the interiors are much better than most of their competitors IMO. Unless you're talking base base uber base models.

Spectra, Rio, Sportage, Forte. All driven by my mother on the pristine roads in south FL.
All squeak, all feel cheap. As crap as a car as they build right now the new Jetta's interior feels better than all but the premium Hyundai.

I have had 2 Hyundais.. an 88 Excel and a 99 Tiburon.. both had E36 M3ty paint from the factory

Oh hey, thought you got perma-banned last time. Let's go to the source, shall we? And I quote:
Consumer Reports 10/29/2013 said: As a follow-up survey revealed, there is a learning curve with advanced infotainment systems, but with the reliability survey, we’re focused strictly on serious problems that might require a trip to the dealer. And with MyTouch, the problem rate is high, partially contributing to two thirds of the 34 Fords and Lincolns in our reliability survey getting scores that were much worse than average.
This is not the "Owner Satisfaction" survey, it's the reliability one. I bolded the important part there for you. The problems they are counting are well-documented failures such buggy software, an INOP backup camera, seizing screens, and is even subject to a potential class-action lawsuit. You could try actually reading things before digging on somebody just because they post a lot. This is not luddites-can't-use-a-touchscreen problems, this is this E36 M3 is actually busted problems.
Or, you know, it could just be me.

Not on that one.....on the manufacturor side, Dodge and "Ram" were both on the top 10 least reliable though.
