Hard to believe the cop would brake check like that. He probably never figured the guy had him on video the whole time.
Shoulda been fired. What do you think would happen to one of us if we had the HUGE cajones to brake-check a cop, even if he/she didn't hit us? If the situation was reversed, that guy would have been beaten by half the force.

That section of the highway had 3 travel lanes. How could he have been cited for passing on the right?

I understand not in SC. In NY, if you pass a car and it's on your left, that's called passing on the right. They also enforce the keep right except to pass thing.

In Missouri, the officer could be cited for not passing in the passing lane. Every state is written differently. Not saying your wrong, just making a point.

Thats the funny thing about most in-car videos. They are done in a way that can be considered illegal our unsafe. I'm looking at a windshield mounted video camera with DVR capabilities. Much safer. Like in Mother Russia.

Isn't it illegal to use the right lane at all in South Carolina? Oh, my bad, that's North Carolina.

There is a reason some of us don't live in NY.
This happened about 2 miles from my office. The cop was an ass and he is now out of a job. Enough said.
Hadthe deputy just remained in the far left lane after being passed and not chased the guy down and gotten back in front of him, everything would have been peachy.
Maybe he was pissed that the guy filming was holding his phone to do it?
I've driven that stretch of 526 many many times, seen all kinds of stupidity but this ranks as probably the worst. Well, next to the yahoos who would approach the end of the six lane section where it becomes a 4 lane dual bridge with a wide breakdown lane which then becomes their private outside lane. It being a breakdown lane, it's littered with rocks, pieces of tries, bottles etc which they of course fling into the regular traffic lanes. Dumbasses. That cop was just being a dick; he did something that anyone in a civilian car would have lost their license over and rightfully so.
And yes on multi lane highways like that it's legal to pass on the right here in SC.
Both were driving like shiny happy people, just the cop was a little bit more of an shiny happy person.

those are two statements that should never be used together

Same here. It's illegal to be passed on the right, not to be the pass...or? So yeah, the cop would have been pulled over, not the truck.
