Law enforcement sources in South Carolina tell WWAY they have had frequent encounters with Walton, who they say often drives around recording video of law enforcement officers trying to catch them in bad situations.

The biggest take away that I got was that Walton may be a PITA but the deputy was willfully (or ignorantly) impeding the flow of traffic. Two shiny happy people engaged in a road rage incident and one of them totally embarrassed himself and his employers.

If this had happened between two civilian drivers, multiple tickets would have littered the highway.

^^ I agree.

The fact that a man has a history being a pain in the butt to local LEO does not change the fact that he filmed a cop loosing their temper and acting stupid.

I have seen NJ state Troopers do something worse on the I295. I have seen them willingly sit side by side with the lights on to stop traffic up for a few miles and then slowly drive down the road at the speed limit..

Been a few years since I have seen it.. but I have seen them do it

Several years ago up around Murrells Inlet and Myrtle Beach some guy got torqued at the way the cops drove, he contacted the local police chief nd the county sheriff who both told him T.S. He dug out a VHS camcorder (yeah this was a while back), taped about 15-20 incidents of all kinds and sent a copy to the local TV station. IIRC the chief of police lost his job and the sheriff was reprimanded along with several officers.

Sure there are times when the 5-0 will need to drive in a manner some won't like; for instance the Highway Patrol will use an officer to deliver a transplant organ and that means they haul ass through traffic, run red lights etc with their blues on. That's completely understandable. But this cop purposely brake checked someone who was not involved with a pursuit etc, he was just being a dick.

Regardless of whether this guy gets his rocks off filming cops, if he was obeying the traffic laws (which he was according to the video) there was no reason for the cop to do that. In fact, officers are expected to rise above that, it's part of being a professional.

It's not like he's the 1st guy to film a cop, every cop knows its likely since that little incident in LA a few years ago.

Besides maybe the cops are exagerating, there is no evidence of Walton filming cops being used to verify the claim.
