One of my favorite past times: watching the progress of a package. It’s not that I’m impatient. I just enjoy seeing where it goes.

So, I currently have a UPS Ground shipment coming from Addison, Illinois, bound for here in Ormond Beach, Florida.

UPS says that it departed Addison at 1:15 this morning and will arrive at my house tomorrow between 12:30 p.m. and 3:30 p.m.

So, Will My Package Arrive on Time? (You have to say it like Wheel of Fortune!)

Good luck, contestants.

I say one day late. That's what I've been getting with UPS lately. Even if they have to let it sit in the Jax depot for that day.

Ive had good and bad luck with all three of the big ones (USPS/UPS/FE)

Usually good results.

On this...Nah, I say no.

I’ve actually been doing well with packages heading our way aside from one that came signature required. Well, I missed the UPS driver (I think I was in the shower) and then the package got lost in the system. Of course, it was a camera. I went to our local depot, but the office was closed so no one could help me. Oh, and it was during the holidays. I filled a lost package claim and didn’t hear anything.

A few days later, and rather late in the evening, my wife goes, I think someone just dropped off a package.

Yep, my camera.

I will say on time.  I just had a similar situation for a package departing Arizona for Pittsburgh. Departed early Tuesday morning from Phoenix.  On my doorstep at 3pm on Wednesday.  The big bird in the sky can move some freight fast. The sorting centers are also pretty impressive when you read the breakdown of when they arrive/depart.

Yes, I've also been on the E36 M3 end of the stick with the major shipping companies, but 99.5 percent of the time, it works everytime.

I say it gets lost and you never get it, since nobody chose that option yet.

For some reason, I am thinking we should play this in the family feud game show style.

100 shop owner were asked will the part they ordered arrive on time.

The top 10 answers are on the board:  :-)

Oh, and as a side discussion.  Who was the better host?  Steve Harvey or Richard Dawson?

So does UPS run a truck right from Addison, Illinois, to Jacksonville, Florida? Or do we think the box was put on a plane? It’s coming via Ground.

According to Google maps, that's a little over 1100 miles and a little under 17 hours of driving. Technically, the math works in favor of truck.

The best is when something is WAY late/doesn't show up. So Amazon sends another one. Then the original shows up.

BAM, some friends of ours got a really nice king-sized matress for free.

Glad you had luck.

I ordered some reproduction center cap decals for my Mambas on April 17th. They just showed up today and there are only 3!

It's trucks all the way on ground.  But they have huge warehouses, lots of trucks and lots of drivers so it's pretty efficient.  I'm the US ground has gotten so good lots of Express packages actually go on trucks too.  Even overnight can be done by trucks in a lot of cases.

I have had orders take this same route (from the same shipper) before, and the outcome was the same with the package arriving like two days later. Color me impressed.
