No , not Kevin.
I don't eat pork but love bacon. As such I've been eating turkey bacon. It's not bad stuff. Then I learned about bacon that could be better than pig belly bacon.
BEEF BACON!
Has any one else heard of or eaten this magical sounding meat candy? I found this site:
http://homemadebacon.wordpress.com/2011/01/28/beef-bacon/
and it even has lamb bacon links in it. lamb is the food of gods.
I'd try it, but pork is hard to beat.
Pork bacon is what, 10 extra calories a slice versus turkey? I go for the real stuff.

If I could eat pork I would.
Pig meat makes me violently ill. I'm one of the few people that are allergic to swine too.

I'm terribly sorry that you will never know the true joy of pulled pork.
I will drink another beer tonight in your honor.

Atkins diet FTW
Atkins died of dietary problems.
Robert Atkins died from a head injury.

Oh, right. But he was terribly overweight or retaining water.
I hadn't read up on it since his death, but I think it comes to him retaining around 50 lbs of fluid. A lot of false stories were released.
Now, back to this banana nut bread..

Dude the man wasn't overweight, he was 6 feet tall and 195lb on admission to hospital and at his last medical. Dr Atkins was 72 when he died without connection to any dietary trend.
"Dr. Atkins slipped on the ice while walking to work, hitting his head and causing bleeding around his brain. He lost consciousness on the way to the hospital, where he spent two weeks in intensive care. His body deteriorated rapidly and he suffered massive organ failure. During this time, his body apparently retained an enormous amount of fluid, and his weight at death was recorded at 258 pounds. His death certificate states that the cause of death was "blunt impact injury of head with epidural hematoma"
You have fallen for the media line.

Somewhere out there, there's a fat guy saying "man, I'm glad I don't to Atkins, I could get sick" because people with money want us spending money on cheap, easy to produce grains, or the lastest expensive diet fad.
I am currently doing the Atkins diet, started just before Thanksgiving and have lost 35 lbs to date, I eat well, am not hungry and have plenty of vegetables.
The BS from people who have never done any research on this diet is just blissful ignorance.
Even the major of NYC opened his fool mouth about Dr Atkins death.
Some actually know what they are talking about though

Doctor Atkins was one of the greatest and most misunderstood physicians in the history of medicine, and so much more than "The Atkins Diet."
His emphasis on the carbohydrate extended beyond it's connection to obesity. If diabetes is an abberration of carbohydrate metabolism, then simple as well as complex carbohydrates are what should be focused on. Not fats, per se. Complex carbs will also raise one's sugar levels, increase insulin requirements and the need for pharmaceutical intervention. Of note, no matter what the ratios are, the body still knows how to change protein and fats into carbs (gluconeogenesis).

That statement is just... Wow.

I did the Atkins diet and lost a bunch of weight. After I reintroduced carbs into my diet, I steadily gained all the weight back. It is unhealthy to keep your body in a constant state of ketosis. It can cause liver problems.
I lost all that weight again (and kept it off this time) through GASP eating less and exercising more.
The only weight loss diet that is sustainable is moderation.

Maybe you didn't read the post above yours. I correcte myself. Just read up on it after I was told I was wrong. And I was. He was 153 lbs at the time of death. Retaining a lot of fluid. Really I hadn't cared enough to keep up on the developing news.
Once again, back to this banana nut bread and Pepsi...

Which is always a good reason to post BS.

Looking at that beer box hat, I sincerely doubt you spend much time calorie counting.
