Just thought I'd hit up the brain trust here. I need a coating/paint that absorbs most wavelengths of light. Needs to be able to be applied to a tube of ~2.5" diameter. I've saw the flocking sheets that hobbyist telescope dudes use, looking for something a bit more professional for an industrial application.

This is what they spec the flocking I am looking at:

Pretty good (actually, excellent) for cheap and gets rid of all visible light reflectance. Of course, I'd like to kill the Near IR as well, but ~20% reflectance is better than what we currently have (bare stainless steel). It is pretty hack job though... I'd like something a bit more professional. NASA's darker than black coating is a bit out of our budget

Black paint. Flat. The color you see is that which is reflected. Black absorbs light, hence low reflection.
