Like Animals? Buy an annual pass to the Zoo.

Zoos and museums are really hurting right now.  A 'kid' who was a neighbor of mine years ago is now a manager at a major city zoo. Zoos across the country are now closed to visitors and not collecting any admission fees. All the expenses of caring for the animals continue. As a way to donate, I just bought an annual pass to the zoo. I wanted to pass on the idea that a good way to give to your local zoo, aquarium, or other facilities (museums, arts...) is to get an annual membership during this 'lock-down' that you and your family can enjoy later.

We buy a family pass to the local zoo most years and our zoo has reciprocity with a lot of the zoos within a days drive so our passes get us in them for free too. It's really a great bargain for something to do on random afternoons with the nieces and nephews. 

Buying a membership to your favorite zoo or museum helps them, but it also likely will help you.  Here in central Virginia, the Virginia Museum of Fine Arts has an amazing collection of art from virtually all cultures and eras.  In addition, they have a number of special events and touring exhibits throughout the year.  My membership gets me complimentary passes to those special events.  Also, it's a great place to hang out and see some great art.
