Richard Hammond is a pretty good guy. He was kind enough to take some time to give a sick little girl her dream ride in a Pink Lamborghini Adventador.

That is supremely cool. Good for them.
You know how you hear of people winning the lottery and going broke in a few years? You know, blowing tens or millions of dollars on stupid crap? Well, I'd go broke giving all my money to charities like this one and Make a Wish. Can't think of a better charity.
Wonderful story. We need more things like this
sniff, damned allergies..

WHY IS SOMEONE SLICING ALL OF THESE ONIONS NEAR ME?!
Wow. Good on the Hamster! He was great with her! What a beautiful thing to do. ![](/media/img/icons/smilies/laugh-18.png)
Her expression when she first saw the car was priceless.
Is that just pink plastidip?

That is what I saw on the can....
Thanks! and yes, I'm crying, too.

This. It's great that all the people involved worked to make it happen. ![](/media/img/icons/smilies/grin-18.png)

the perfect way to do a temporary color change
I'm going to read my daughter a story now.
The hamster is a good dude. And the organization is cool. Dinner is over, and I'm going to cut some onions.
This is not what urban youth are talking about when they say they are "balling" right?
That is great, good on them :)

You're ballin' if you own an Aventador. You're a philanthropic baller if you lend it out to make a sick kid happy.
I watched it again and for some reason, the part that choked me up the most was when she asked for clearance on the runway. Such a touching, cute, innocent moment--for some reason a pile of minced onions was placed on a large plate next to me at that moment.
In reply to gamby:
Yeah, the moment she first sees the car and the moment when she asks for clearance pretty much does it for me.
I like how humble the Hamster is.. He may have been the "star" but he has to tell the camera that he only played a very small part
Hammond is amazingly good with kids. Good on him and the car owner for getting this to happen.

Yeah, he went into "sincere dad mode" and he was perfect.
I think even Clarkson would have to give him credit for that. Granted, Clarkson probably got a kick out of seeing him in a pink Lambo. ![](/media/img/icons/smilies/laugh-18.png)

Nice that at least ONE of the top gear presenters isn't a terrible dude, or at least generates the press that Clarkson does.

I don't think Clarkson is a bad guy, I think he plays a character for affect and sometimes maybe goes a bit too far. Like a British Howard Stern if you will.
Yeah, I can't imagine any of the TG presenters not being a softie doing this.
Richard is good on this, but he's not the only driver of a cool car that did this- for at least 20 years, AROC Detroit hosted the Italian Happening- in itself was an event to raise money for Make-A-Wish. The track event for that weekend was where we asked exotic car owners to come out to Waterford Hills, and then give drives to any Make-A-Wish kid who wanted one. It was an amazing event, with many people helping the kids in and out of Ferrari's, Lambo's, Maserati's, and even Fiats and Alfas who were in wheel chairs.
And I'm sure we were not the only car club/chapter who did things for Make-A-Wish.
If you want to add to this kind of event- please go out and see if any local organizations are helping kids like this, and give them a hand. You may be surprised that some kid will want to ride in YOUR car. You will really love that.
