Was thinking about building a trailer.
I'm looking for - bolt to axle- Junkyard hubs I can use.
I'd fab the axle/ plates to bolt them to.
Any ideas?
Caravan?
Thanks,
James

My 4X8 utility trailer has old Chevy spindles welded to a piece of 3 inch pipe.I have had over 3000# in it with out any problem other than the tires almost died. Not bolt on though.
Any Chrysler FWD product will have bolt on spindles. They should be fairly stout and have a 4x100 or 5x100 or 5x114.5 bolt pattern. Of course the 'vans will be slightly stronger.
Off the top of my head: 4x100- rears from: VW Rabbit/Jetta/etc, Scion xA/xB/Echo 5x100- rears from: Caravan, Neon, Cavalier 5x4.5"- Rears from Century/Celebrity/Cutlass/etc, Fronts from 2WD Jeep 5x4.75"- fronts from C4+ Vette, last-gen Camaro
Thanks guys.
A hub and spindle kit from Northern tool is about $56 per side, IIRC. Then you buy your tube and weld away.
A complete axle kit is cheaper overall but then you're limited to standard widths.
I'll be looking at the above mentioned cars at the Pull-a-part next time I'm there.

ive used the caravan hubs, spindles and brake assemblies with a surge hitch set up, tandem axle car trailer and they work great

If the width is right, I may, but I'm also thinking about a straight axle instead of a drop.

Nothing direct, but the rear hubs from a Mazda GLC (81-85) use the same wheel bearings as the Ford Festiva/Aspire/Kia Rio, and those all have removabll spindles in the back. So you could take a pair of GLC hubs/drums and a set of Festiva spindles and probably buld you a trailer axle that uses the right bolt pattern.
i was going to say just use a caravan rear axle hub to hub for a utility trailer. i often think that's what i'd do if i ever feel the need to build another trailer.
