Locost Forums?

I know some of you are on the LocostUSA forums. Is it up or down?

I haven't been able to get on for days but occassionally I get a notification that others have posted.

That forum is a little twitchy. It is Up for me.

I can get there - pretty slow though.

Yahoo Locost_North_America is just fine.

Up and running fast at the moment.

So what's stopping me from getting on suddenly? I wonder.

I've used my computer, my wife's computer and the library's when I was up there earlier today.

Maybe they decided you didn't need to build a locost.

It's a test to judge your fitness to build a Locost. Do you:

• give up?
• enlist the help of others?
• keep plugging away and solve the problem?
• find another solution, such as locostbuilders.co.uk?

I was thinking I might have made someone mad, but I haven't posted in a while and how would they know it's me from the Library computer.

The UK builders forum is soooo slow and they don't allow you to officially join and post without an International phone call. I monitor it, I just don't post.

I don't know what I'm going to do cause I can't quite figure out the issue.

Must be a new rule, I'm registered there and I never had to call.

Locostusa is up and running, I've been on and off it all day.

Well it's official then - they hate me!

I get this message every time I try to connect.

"The connection has timed out

The server at www.locostusa.com is taking too long to respond."

I get new, faster internet service tomorrow, maybe it's my provider that doesn't like Locost anymore.

I dont know if it will help but clean out all of your browsing history, cookies, temporary files under internet options (Internet Explorer at least).

I've never had a problem with the site. Dave Hempy is my hero.

Can you give me Dave's email addy? I've tried removing cookies and I've just found out they can't connect me to the new higher speed internet so a new system's not in the works. Not that I think that would work anyway. Like I said I used the Library's connection and their computer yesterday and go the same message.

I didn't find an email for him or violentblue, so I posted in the "report a problem" area, with a link to this thread.

Thanx. I did a google search for Dave and just got links to the site which of course didn't work.

It won't work on my iPhone either. I've never tried it before so I don't know if it would have loaded before, but the error message I get on it is "the server stopped responding"

So, I was doing my daily Google for, "David Hempy is my hero," and was surprised to see a new link appear on page 7 of the results. :roll-eyes:

This is odd...the site is up and running with lots of activity over the past few days. But you're not the only one. I got an email this morning from someone having the same problem.

Do me a favor...drop to a command prompt and run " tracert www.LocostUSA.com " and post the results here or send me a PM. (Note - posting this could expose some info about your location, so if you're the paranoid type, skip this step!)

Hey, carguy...were you ever able to get connected?

Can you see the home page: http://www.LocostUSA.com ? That page has nothing to do with the forum software, and anyone in the world should be able to view it.
