Hey, all:
Our cruise earlier this year got canceled and so did our potential for going to Rhinebeck this fall for the Sheep & Wool Fest.
We're not big vacationers, mostly because we get planning paralysis, but I want to get DW away from WFH for maybe 4 days. Could be more.
She's mentioned wanting to see New Hope, PA and twin town Lambertville, just across the Delaware River. We enjoyed a couple days in Woodstock (the actual town, not Yasgur's Farm) 2 years ago and this seems like a similar arty vibe.
So, does anybody know what we should see / do?
Where we should stay / eat?
Anything else?
I would also consider a long weekend in Jim Thorpe, PA, where I know Quas and family recently visited. But I would rather start in New Hope.
Thanks for any input you can offer!
Great driving on either side of the river. Take a day trip up to Easton, north of New Hope both for the drive and to check out the downtown.
Plenty of antique shopping in Lambertville and a weekend outdoor flea market that can be fun to check out.

Thanks. We met at school in Bethlehem, which has enjoyed quite a rebuildening since then. I thought one of our days would be spent checking that out.
There's Washington's Crossing and related history stuff in the area. French Town NJ is nearby and it's extremely cute although I don't know if I would say that's enough to make it a destination (had an awesome lunch there once but with the covid there might not be as many options available currently).
Road north is best, PA side up then NJ side down There is a winery on the PA side, they do excellent tasting demonstrations. Not cheap but the view is great. . New Hope is very touristy, walking around is fun. Nearby is Peddler's Village, more walking and chance to spend money. The canal towpath in NJ is great for bike riding, but not sure who rents bikes around there. For this south to Washington Crossing is a pretty easy and scenic ride.
Bethlehem and the riverfront is quite nice also, google steel stacks for more info.
Another thing to do but a little farther away, Lake Nockamixon is a pretty huge state park, with kayak and SUP rentals. If it is hot and humid this is a fun activity, falling in is encouraged. Speaking of water stuff, tubing is a big thing. Pt Pleasant has the best service but nowadays not sure if riding in a bus upstream is a good thing.
Yes I am a local.

Great, thank you for the information. I'm looking for a nice touristy place to walk around, but not Wal*Mart touristy. Thanks again.
