I'm taking a few 1950's shelf radios and stuffing them with modern drivers and electronics. Kinda like I did in THIS THREAD except smaller. I didn't like the combo BT/amp I used in that project. I ended up replacing the amp after a year.

So, I'm looking for a bluetooth module for this project. What bluetooth modules have you folks used in various projects, and what were your thoughts? Any recommendations?

Look at page two of the thread I linked. Don't get that bluetooth / amp board. It had ground loop hum. I swapped it out as soon as I could. Are you looking for a board amp like the one above, or a small BT/amp combo?  Is it going to be built INSIDE of a project, or sit next to it?

Not cheap but has worked like a champ both for my garage radio and my vintage cabinet.

I've got this in the garage, with a pair of Phillips bookshelf speakers and a 8" Boss sub in a sealed truck box.

Plenty of sound for a 2 car garage.

Edit, I also added this Bluetooth Audio Adapter to one of the RCA inputs of my early '00s Sony 5.1 stereo receiver in my living room.  My house is a little over 1200 sq-ft, typical, late '80s, urban-sprawl, suburbia, drywall, and I can stream from my phone to it from anywhere in the house.  Only thing I don't like, is if it's plugged in, it's on, there's no power switch.

I have one of these in the garage feeding a reciever that has been working great in that terrible environment for a few years now. It might not integrate super cleanly with your projects, but you may also be able to get creative and wire a different switch to the guts.

It depends on if you are going to feed it into an amp.  Some of the above links appear to feed line level (into an amp), while at least one does have a built in amp.

I used a cheap version of the amp style (don't need a sub) to put BT in my Ghia.  I may need a better one though since it's not quite loud enough (I only have one speaker to work with)

I'm feeding it i to an amp. It will be inside a radio so no external buttons for pairing or anything.
I'll probably do build theeads for these.
