I've posted about my MacBook before, but I don't expect you to remember :)
It's a 2008 model, aluminum unibody, 13". One of the benefits of this is that it has a user-replaceable battery.
Which is dead. On a good day, I can get 1/2 hour out of it.
Apple wants $129 for a new one. Aftermarket batteries are around $40.
Thing is, this computer may be at the end of it's life... or not? It was at the bottom of the list for Mavericks upgrade, so I expect it won't take the next new OSX.
Flip side is, it works fine on AC power, and the only time I really use it is in hotels when I travel. And just about the only software I need/use is a web browser.
In theory, this computer will do what little I ask of it for a very long time - maybe even another 4-5 years!
I'm inclined to ride this bus 'til the wheels fall off, as they say.
Feel free to enable me or tell me why I'm being a fool.
