Magnets, how do they work?

Yea!! Magnets!!

Looked into this when one of my guys showed up wearing a magnetic bracelet.

The short of it is that it is supposed to work like crowd control cattle gates. Mazdeuce has the gist of if; It breaks up clumps of red blood cells and puts them in a line. Being single file allows them to get into small capillaries in a more efficient manner. (some vendors claim that the clumped red blood cells actually jam in the entrance to small capillaries and prevent blood from getting to where they are needed) More oxygenated blood reaching more of your body bits is good.

It is a good story. Where this falls apart is when I consider how strong the magnet would have to be to really accomplish the job. The sellers claim that the long term use exposure will take care of the low energy, but I am not sold.

So by that theory a treatment for sickle cell anemia would be running people through a MRI. (they don't BTW).

Snake oil for the gullible and placebo effect.
