Saltwater Fisheries are collapsing globally, it is a real problem. That has absolutely nothing to do with fishing for bluegill or bass in your local pond. Yet More idiotic bullE36 M3..

As my dad pointed out (he's a democrat) ECM if Obama wanted to take our guns (my dad does enjoy shooting) and now our fishing poles (snicker) do you really think he would be sucessful? What else has he pushed through like this? Nobody seems to want to work together.

I heard yesterday that Obama is going to issue an executive order to outlaw the wearing of camouflage clothing, and trucker hats. He is then going to ban the use of all ATV's, pickup trucks, and the listening of country music.
He stated that is it all because he hates America and everything it stands for.
Don't be naive, it is all part of his evil muslim plan!
In reply to Joe Gearin:
I'm cool with those bans. No more rednecks in camo sweats that are a few sizes to small at the local diner? I'm alm for it!

Down here, Quail Unlimited were the loudest voice against OHV. Right behind them was the Sierra Club.

How the hell hunting clubs get to carry the torch for protecting the environment is amazing to me. "You can't drive your jeep in these woods because it may introduce sediment which may irritate the fish that I want to kill!"

C'mon, you know that vehicles using internal combustion engines are the spawn of satan.
Well, them and Rahm Emmanuel.........

Used to crack me up, too. The damndest thing was that once some buddies and I went out marking potential OHV trail in the Francis Marion National Forest and the 'compartment' we were in had been logged in the previous 3 or 4 years. There were skidder ruts 2 feet deep in places. So we just went on our merry way, painting dots on trees our asses off. I was wearing a big ol' Trimble GPS in a backpack, once I was completed I gave them the unit back, they downloaded it and printed out on a compartment map.
Abot two weeks later I was at a meeting where we were discussing the placement of this proposed trail and we were informed that there was too much potential for damage to the forest floor.
Yes, you read that right. It took me about a minute to get my jaw back up off the floor. I pointed out, as nicely as I could, the existing skidder ruts etc and a SC DNR 'scientist' told me that logging was less environmentally damaging than dirt bikes because it disturbed the environment only about once every ten years whereas motorcycles were a constant disturbance. He would not back down from that statement.
Two or three days later, I was hauling my bike out to the trailhead and passed that same compartment. It was smoking from a controlled burn.
Them 'viromentists don't really care about the environment. It's like women, see? They don't care what you're doing. They just don't want you doing what you want to do. "What are you doing?" "I'm surfing teh intrawebs, y0." "You're always on that thing, blah blah blah." "Alright, I'm going to watch TV now." "OK."
A while back, there was a big push for 'roadless areas'. It was a thinly veiled attempt, pushed by Big Green, to expand Wilderness area 'protections' to various other parts of the National Forest system. Allegedly, the only thing you couldn't do in a 'roadless area' was to build a road, but when you read the definition of a road it overlapped with OHV trail. The rule was to apply only to areas of 1,000 acres or more but it included provisions to 'create' roadless areas which met the minimum size by allowing for the closure and 'eradication' of roads.
I see lot of talk about what could happen and opinion that the "public" mightl be ignored. Has anything actually happened yet other than the end of public compentary on a proposal?
Harumph, harumph, harumph, harumph, harumph, harumph, harumph, harumph, harumph, harumph, harumph, harumph, harumph, harumph....

Public commentary is gathered and collated but in the end it means not a damn thing except tax money pissed away. It's just feel good crap. Whatever group that has the most pull behind the scenes will get what they want. BTDT.

Amen.
And yeah - after closing Tellico OHV, they logged it. They also used the "less damaging than off roading" argument. Bunch of paid for lying shiny happy people.
I bet you like to watch Glen Beck with your tinfoil hat on every night.

No that's when you take off your tinfoil hat, so you can receive the subliminal messages intended for The Resistance.
Oh if you want something to freak out about, look up ACTA or Obama's views on police DNA sampling.
