I am one of the more creative people I know, but when it comes to choosing a job I am pathetically unoriginal.

Past jobs: Charter bus driver, actor, bartender, auto shop manager, mechanic, and a few other retail jobs in between. I'm looking for a new job, but I keep searching for the same jobs because its what is familiar (even though I didn't particularly like them). I loved bartending, but I'm getting older and Pittsburgh doesn't really pay well. I ended up developing medical problems from the stress of running repair shops so I'm not keen on that. Acting is fun, but unless you've "made" it, it is often times 16 hour days for minimum wage and being hired for one day at a time.

I'm currently enrolled in a Master's program for counseling and therapy but that is a few years out. I want a job that I can really love in the meantime that pays the bills without sucking the life out of me.

My wife thought of a few ideas that I'm following up on... automotive museum, zoo, amusement park. Most of those are winding down for the season so not hiring, but I'm looking for something more than Home Depot.

I'm willing to entertain non-traditional stuff too... I'm not excited about things like MLM or "earn six million a week at home" but I don't have to be traditional.

Do you have a completed degree as of right now? I have some ideas if you do. Like even a BA or whatever in therapy?

Security, sales, radio host. I do them all, and I'm thinking about doing fugitive recovery as well.

Bounty hunter? That sounds fun.

I've considered repo work and bail bonding in the past.

I have a friend trying to pull me into the business. I'm interested. I don't know if I'm just intimidating looking or what, maxing out at 125 lbs.

But, yes. That is what I've done for work.

It's the scrawny white boys you gotta be scared of. Big dude will kill ya, scrawny motherberkeleyer is the one that will wear your skin as a scuba suit.

As that photo suggests, people usually pay me more NOT to model.

Going on the thread title, if you want to legally make money, I'm pretty sure you will have to work for the Treasury. There are mints scattered around the country to make money at.

Usually a state qualification and lots of time to do your job. Can you stay up for three days straight? Go home with $3500xx.

Usually takes a couple hundred to get into and you're out that if you don't like it. Find one near you and check it out.

What about the people who give court documents? They serve people, I forget their actual title. I think that could be an interesting job

HM. Because I was going to suggest you went the route my wife did. She has a BA/S (I don't berkeleyin' know, I'm kinda loaded right now) in disability studies with a somethin' somethin' in early childhood or some E36 M3. What she is now is a Liscensed Skills Worker, and she is moving on to be a Case manager. Basically what she does is she goes in home and teaches kids ways to cope with things. Angry? Here's how you can work on it. Problems at school? Here's the appropriate reaction. And so on. She LOVES it. Case management is similar, wherein she helps people. This case, she hooks up people with the right services that may not be able to help themselves in other events. Therapy and the like. I know in MANY states, you need a masters to practice on your own, but facility based services, you can practice under the facility liscense, like she does. Not having a specific degree in such things may hinder you, but it might be worth pursuit. IDK where home is going to be, or what the regs are in said state, but if you land anywhere solid, I can perhaps point you in that direction, assuming it's your thing. One thing to consider, and I know this because it was my job, MN and TX (who knew?) are two of the biggest states in the US when it comes to progressive treatment of mental health disabilities, especially in youth. Assuming the "where Curtis should cop a squat" thread comes to fruition, Austin may be the jam.

Myself personally? I applied at a microbrewery driving a delivery truck, because I berkeleyin' love beer, and I berkeleyin' love driving. Might as well combine em, legally.
