So Florida isn't leaking, the skittle is just being used as designed?

He needs to go to jail for putting that hideous body kit on that car.

It seems to me that the cop isn't very good at math if he calculated 12min and the car arrived in 2min at about double the speed limit.

I guess anyone dumb enough to go 146mph on a public road in an uninsured & un-inspected car should also be expected to pull over on the wrong side of the road to boot.

I did some dumb things at 18 and I guess I am glad I didn't have a car that would go that fast.

How'd he get a Neon up to 146 mph?

plus criminal speeding, which is punishable by a 30-day license suspension and up to six months in jail and a $1,000 fine.

Wonder what the actual punishment is. IMO, 30 day suspension/$1000 fine is not nearly enough to discourage this type of behavior. 6 months in jail seems a bit excessive.

Srt4. The funny thing is, the car showed up on cl rigjt after this happened. It's since been deleted.

In another news story it was stated that he (officer) asked what the delay on the call was and got 3 minutes, so adding 2 minutes would make a total of 5 minutes. Just under half of the 12 minutes it would take traveling at 70mph.

My bone-stock '95 ACR did a calculated 133-135 mph on I-95 in the middle of the night one time. It took 5 or 6 miles of open road to finally top out (drag limited), but it got there. I measured the circumference of the tire, did the math, and got 134 mph with a little margin for error on reading the tach.

I pulled 135 MPH (indicated) in a stock 86 Prelude Si downhill on a deserted freeway around 3am when I was about that age. It would otherwise max at 120 MPH on flat ground.

So I can see a modified SRT4 hit that pretty easily with enough runway.

Comparable cars from the era such as the ms3 would pull a verified 155. I can see it.

Those areas on 95 and 295 are long flat and straight, many trips up there have confirmed this. Unrelated side note yes the MS3 does have a speed limiter around 155 on a closed track.

If I had a capable car at 18 I would have done something equally dumb. Maybe not the uninspected/uninsured part...

When I was 18-19, I had a car that would cruise just as happy as can be at an indicated 140. It really didn't feel much different than cruising at 70. I-275 around Cincinnati used to be very empty at 2:30 in the morning.

I "may" have once seen similar speeds in my e36, eastbound on the PA turnpike just past Somerset at around 2:30 am. I think I was 19 at the time. Fortunately I managed to not get caught that time, though I did once get bagged at low triple digit speeds in my 850 Turbo. 5mph more and I would have been in cuffs. Think I was 20 then.

I guess I must have wisened up, though. In spite of being far and away the fastest car I've owned, I don't think the Camaro has ever seen much more than 115 or so and only for a fleeting moment. But it sure does get there fast.
