I just got off the phone with my M-I-L. She has a Grand Caravan for herself and still has the GMC Somoma 4.3L (s-10) of my F-I-L. He past nearly 2 years ago but she keeps the truck and drives it very little.
She called to tell me that there is a slight puddle under the truck where it has sat for more than a week. She took it straight to the dealership and leaves the truck there.
They tell her the issue is a leaking manifold gasket.

Last I drove the truck, it seems to be running fine. When I questioned my M-I-L she said the truck was acting no different when she drove it to the dealership.
Should there be signs that the the gasket is going?
Would a leaking manifold gasket create pooling of liquid? I though the leaked more internal?

Quote of $800-$900

It's pretty common, it's a eight hour job for a slow DIY fix. Use the felpro gasket, if aluminum is pitted use a little rtv.
