I keep seeing the ads on YouTube, so I just checked it out: $90 for lifetime access to each expert's classes, assuming that I'm reading it correctly. So for $90 I can watch 20 lessons by jazz great (and Cobra owner since he bought it new back in the '60s) Herbie Hancock.

Interesting. I had not heard of this. I want to really learn how to play the guitar. I can fumble around and make some pretty noises occasionally but I don't really know how to play.

There's reviews out there for most of them. From what I hear they run the gamut from life changing to only slightly above Youtube average, so a little googling might be time sell spent. They also have sales from time to time. They also run the gamut from highly general (Like Steve Martin's comedy writing class) to insanely nuts-and-bolts technical (Like Deadmaus's electronic music class).

Interesting concept, but two big critiques:

Teaching/coaching/instructing is a skill entirely separate from doing. The best performers of a particular skill are rarely the best instructors of that skill. I don't necessarily want to learn how to play basketball from Michael Jordan. I want to learn from the guy who coached Michael Jordan.

The most useful instruction is interactive. These may be able to give ideas on what someone else does, but not critique on what you're doing.
