Dangit. We just got Dukes here in the Pacific Northwest about 18 months ago and I am a total convert. Right about the same time Best Foods (Hellmans to you folks on the wrong half of the country) started to turn a sickly gray color so I ain't switching back.
sigh.........
GRM: We have Dukes at home.
The Duke at home:

I just texted the fiance (she's asleep) to tell her to add a few extra jars when she goes grocery shopping tomorrow.
This news will make her nonplussed to say the least. When she was in college she used to have her parents send her boxes of Zaxby's sauce because they weren't here in Oklahoma yet.
I had to grow up and leave home before I could discover actual mayonnaise. The family would buy the generic version of Miracle Whip, some awful stuff labeled as "Salad Dressing."
I started cooking at around age 14 out of self defense.
In reply to Floating Doc (Forum Supporter) :
Miracle Whip is also labeled as "Salad Dressing" because of lower oil content and sugar.

A salad is just a salad without, etc

Trying to make me vomit on my new laptop!
Well new to me anyway.

They came for our sportsball teams, but I don't care about the Celtics so whatever. Now it's our condiments.. I guess there's nothing sacred.
Eh... screw the Celtics. They are largely responsible for people mispronouncing that word.
Kell-tick dammit, it's pronounced Kell-tick.

Yup - people in Richmond are not happy already.
Richmonders are by and large used to apocalyptic events.
We get along and have a great sense of humor doing it. Case in point.
Duke's being sold to PE is not yet a ELE - extinction level event. We're adopting a "wait and see" attitude on this. People get Duke's Mayo tattoos here. I mean that's not saying a whole lot as RVA is one of the most heavily tattooed cities in the nation, but still. It speaks to a level of commitment. Hopefully, PE in this case will be humble and realize they don't know better. I'm not holding my breath but one can hope.
So being that I have never tried Dukes. Is it more of a sweet mayo like Miracle Whip? or whats the big deal? I have seen Dukes on shelves, but refrained due to the price.
I had duke's once long ago...i remember it being like "meh" (i am not saying it sucks it just didnt ring my bell). Ill try it again if I come across it. I grew up on Hellmans so thats what I know and used to. I usually buy Aldi store brand mayo typically these days.

That's "stacking Dukes" not "stocking Duke's".

I'm a dedicated Hellman's guy. I tried Duke's once to see what the hype was about and found it... adequate. It wasn't memorable and it wasn't better than Hellman's.
I despise Miracle Whip and Kraft because of their sweetness, so I don't think the Duke's was sweet like that.
