Newser) – Attention motorists: Be on the alert for vampires in Colorado. One woman who crashed into a canal Sunday night after throwing her SUV into reverse has a perfectly reasonable explanation for the accident: She saw a vampire in the middle of the road! Neither the undead creature nor the car crash injured her, KDVR reports. Shockingly, police do not think drugs or alcohol were involved.

OK then. No more vampire books/movies for her then. And maybe, just maybe, she NEEEDS meds to be involved.

Speaking of vampires, has anyone here read "Abraham Lincoln: Vampire Hunter"? It's basically the story of Lincoln's life but the author adds a story of vampires living in secret in the US, affecting all parts of life. Lincoln's mother died when he was 9, because of milk poisoning according to wikipedia, but the book explains it that she was actually murdered by a vampire who loaned his father some money that his father couldn't repay. Lincoln learns the man is a vampire and starts planning to kill hiim. He then goes on to be the most prolific vampire hunter in the US, all in secret. Every single part of his life from then on is affected by vampires. It's written as though the author found Lincoln's lost journals and is writing the story based on them. It's really funny, and really well written. I'd highly recommend it.
