Our illustrious leaders might want to take note of today’s stock market rally….nothing says irrelevance like progress in one’s absence.

You are correct sir.
I heard a quote about this today I liked: Everybody believes in the principle of compromise right up until it is their principle interest being compromised.
Far as I can tell, this situation is a public admission that they are not capable of doing the job they are paid to do. That is a firing offence in my mind. For both parties.
These are not citizen legislators, they are political prostitutes. They hire themselves out to whoever will stuff a dollar in their panties.

The sad part is the girl at the strip club down the street is probably more honorable and certainly more honest.

Truer words have never been spoken.

And right here is what's really wrong with the country. Every state/town/city/whatever elects someone on a promise to bring the bacon back home, even if it's for stupid things like the Alaska 'bridge to nowhere' or closer to home Jim Clyburn's bridge from Rimini to Lone Star.

It seems to have finally died but never ever underestimate Jim Clyburn. So he keeps his job by bringing stupid E36 M3 like this back home. He should have been voted out a long time ago, but no. Still there. Term limits would slam the door on this kind of thing, but again everyone says no. Cuts into the ability to bring that unneeded pork home. Keeps us in unsustainable spending cycles. GodDAMN this pisses me off.

+1. Last week I watched The Best Government Money Can Buy and it was the most depressing documentaries I have seen in a while. (Saw it on netflix, but that link is for HULU. I think it is a freebie)
One of my favorites regarding the disparity between the roles we elect them for, and what theyre actually up to...
Hey, wrap your mind around this scenario:
A Channel 7 news alert, lake breaking story at 5pm: Earlier today, someone said something that someone else didnt like about a gay sandwich
nearly an hour later
OMFG, ok, so, after an hour of debate, we know the Gays hate sandwiches, and the sandwiches hate the gays! Dianne, I think the sky is falling! Someone set us up the bomb, all ur base are belong to us!!
meanwhile:
hey guys, if theyre all arguing about homosexual sandwiches, no one will ever even see it coming when we berkley them in their asses
I know, Merkuns all have the dumb, plus, Im rich beeotch
lulz, see what we did there? kekekeke
