If you are quiet and don't eat much, you will NOT fit in. Only problem with inviting you is that you would be disappointed. David lives in LA, I'm in SoFla. But, keep in touch. If Beverly does as well as we hope for, my boys might be semi-famous as her band. Who knows?

I understand David Grohl drives (or drove) an E39 M5, too. So in addition to everything else, he drives a stick. Did you have anything to do with that purchase, CWH?

No, but I approve. He still has that car. Interesting, when he got his first big check from Nirvana, he went right out and bought a Dodge van. Some rocker, huh.

Ready to feel old? 23 years ago was 1988, Styx Lady was 37 years ago.... More like "Every rose has it's thorn....... Just like every night has it's dawn....."

Or "Unskinny Bop".

No "Lady", but the next band was prog rock and we did a cool version of "Foolin' Yourself (Angry Young Man)"

OK, who on here doesn't have a crush on Dave Grohl? Love, love their music.

Um, me. Music is one thing, but crush is going a little too far.

So I may have lied about the quiet part and the food part.

Pretty cool connection you've got there. I've always wondered if I'd run into him when he was in Virginia.

All my wife has is a connection to Duran Duran. Simon has a weird foot thing for my sister-in-law.

David grew up in North Springfield VA. He got on the crazy horse at a pretty young age, so not many people there knew him. I think it's pretty amusing that Miley Cyrus has a cover of Smells Like Teen Spirit now.

Gotta get to the next show, right? And wasn't he still drumming at the time? Drummers need vans. Y'all shoulda seen me packing all that stuff into my old BMW E3 back in college.

I've always liked Dave Grohl himself as a person, but never cared for the foo fighters.

Never liked the Foo Fighters much myself, but I do love Nirvana.

Loved Nirvana until they hit the 'In Utero' stage. The Foo Fighters rank high with me as well.

I like the Foo Fighters much better than Nirvana, great music to draw or work out to. Nirvana always made me uneasy, I have enough angst in my life without taking on anybody else's...

Back in the day, Nirvana did a show in Miami outdoors. We had backstage passes, so it was pretty cool. Got to meet Courtney Love. One sad skank. They had recording stuff set up out in the audience, so I had to go check it out. OK, cool. Then we headed back to the stage area. Old fart that I am, did not know about mosh pit. We walked right into it. Some punk slammed my wife, knocking her down. I picked her up and swung as hard as I could, broke his nose rather nicely. Cop came over to see why he was crying so loud, look at old fart and wife, smiled, and walked away.

That's awesome!

Beverly and the girl who did the weird cover of nirvana, where the only interesting things on that show! That, and christinas, ah, assets.

Can I come to Thanksgiving? I'm very quiet and don't eat much.

I'll make all the Fresh Pots for him!

Eigensinn Farm is a gourmet restaurant north of Toronto. The owner, Michael Stradetlander, invites some of the best chefs in the GTA to come up to his farm and cook on open wood fires in the woods on his land. It's a benefit for local charities. There were around 500 people there.

When we first got there, Michael was serving smoked pork fresh from the smokehouse on fresh baked bread. There were oysters. There was an amazing pulled pork served on fresh focaccia bread. I had this grilled puff pastry filled with cheese and covered with bacon. There was elk and potato and leek soup. There was strudel and fresh maple syrup ice cream. I know I'm forgetting a ton of great food, I was stuffed when we left.
