I suggest a poll: have you had this exact exchange at a car dealer?
I know I have more than once.

It's more like, I see X interesting enthusiast car at a dealership on Autotrader, I enquire about it. It's gone and then I get a year of email from a salesman about stuff completely different.
I was interested in the non sunroof Mazdaspeed6 that you had listed. I am not interested in your variety of off-lease Ford Edges. That's the opposite of what I am interested in. If I was, I could easily find those closer than 500 miles away like you are. Please stop emailing me about them.
I expect much gnashing of teeth when I go shopping for a car next year. I want either a V70R (because I'm dumb and they're cool) or an S3 Avant (because I'm dumb and they're cool). Look all I want is a 300hp all wheel drive wagon (not a truck) that won't rust (therefore not a Subaru)

That would require shopping for a new car, so never have, never will.

That's not wrong.
You see things like the lack of gauges. The home interior switches across the dash. The lack of seat belts. The old axle repurposed as a steering column. The channeled body that blocks access to the brake pedal, and possibly its actual function. The mirrors that do nothing. The revolver that is holstered in such a way that it can't be removed (shifter?). I can't begin to figure out what is happening ahead of the firewall but there is snow on the ground and the vehicle has some sort of winter camo paint.
And a Black Ice air freshener.

I've never shopped for a new car either, still been hit with this line multiple times, even by private sellers.

And the subwwofer steering wheel, with an actual recliner for the seat. Probably really comfy when you get inside.
