Drank some beers, ate some food, watched some racing, talked some E36 M3.
What did you do>
The 500, looked for my fave rebroadcaster on Justin.tv (for Monaco), they finally kicked him. Beer's finally cold, still plan on finding Monaco elsewhere..
Cleaning and sealing the deck. Building some shelves. Drive in theatre movie night. Bbq with family.
Grandma passed away this morning though. It's ok she'll up there with grandpa soon enough.
Yesterday- did gardening stuff and did some random maintenance and fluids checking on the cars, then drank beer. Today- went to the junkyard for some car parts, cooked some food, and now I'm drinking beer. Tomorrow- going to the arts and music festival on the Hbg riverfront tomorrow, then will drink beer. I like beer.
Got a bunch of stuff done on the BMW yesterday. Water park with the wife and boy today. Good dinner, Beer and watching a movie in a few. Tomorrow = more work on the BMW.
Sorry about your grandmother, failboat.
Did a little cookout with friends earlier, then cut a couple of dead limbs out of a big tree in my front yard. Wondering what movie to watch tonight. The kid and I will do some housework tomorrow, so no real big plans.
Cold beer and food in the AC watching Indy
repeat for Coke 600
will repeat for Speed race recap and Wind Tunnel later
Busted out the blender for some drinks around the fire pit last night. Then video games and bed.
Today, watched the end of Monaco, did a little shopping with the wife, came back for Indy, and now eating wings while watching the 600.
A little sailboating Saturday.
Successful Sale.
I have been working on my sister's Saturn to get it up For Sale for her. Went up on CL Thursday night. Got a few calls and emails on Friday.
The first person who looked at it on Saturday bought it.
'02 Saturn SL1 w/ 116k miles and I got $3,950 for it I was real happy.
I took advice from a posting/rant here at GRM recently of high used car prices and listed the car for about $500 more.
My initial idea was to ask $3900 and take $3500.
I switched my thought to ask $4300 and take $4000.
$3950 was close enough!
The car arrived to me two weeks ago as a neglected trash heap.
The engine light was on (ERG valve cleaned for 401 and fresh plugs for 301.)
The car shook at speed and during braking (control arm and axle/cv.)
The muffler rattled (modified and rewelded hanger.)
8k miles since last oil change and low on trans fluid which likely has never been changed. (oil change, trans topped off.)
The front seat and general driver's area was a combination of spilled soda/coffee stains and crumbs in every crevasse. The driver's seat was also torn/worn at the bolster.
For this I found an identical seat at Pick a Part for $30 that with carpet cleaner machine came out great. For the center console and dash, I pulled all the plastic out and it cleaned up fantastic. I also replaced the driver's side door card so as to repair the speaker cover that had been kicked in.
About $400 spent when you add in a shop alignment.
More like $1,000 if you paid retail and shop rates.
In addition, this is a car that shows up on Carfax as having been in two minor accidents. True, both were minor structurally and as Carfax noted, the airbags had never been off. The first was rerend that required a bumper cover and a trunk lid. The second was a front bumper cover, a headlight and a cracked plastic fender.
I figured the car was worth maybe $2,000 when I first got it.

Two S-I-L's in town today so mid day bbq at my M-I-L's. I have had my fill of family and now home alone while my wife is still at M-I-L's.
Likely some sailboat time Monday.
I worked yesterday.. up 32 hours with a 3 hour nap in the middle... went to bed at 5pm yesterday, got up at 9 this morning... and plan on doing nothing today
Just working. The wife is working, so I wont see her until Tuesday Night. Its just me, and my three furry children. Sorry to hear about the Gramms, Fail. I assume it was expected. Happy Memorial Day everyone.
Did the cookout thing with Friends Saturday night, did the recovery Sunday . Now I am watching Saving Private Ryan on DVD. I know it's cheesy but it is Memorial day and it makes me think about just how much and how many sacrifice so I could sit here on my butt all day.
Stayed inside glued, somewhat, to the tv. With Beryl heading straight for us the talking heads and the mayor asked that all stay inside to avoid any flying debris. (Woke up this morning and saw all the patio furniture that had been around the apt. complex's pool was now in it.) Last night (sunday) the news said that the highest local bridge was closed due to the wind that was reported to be gusting to 87 miles/hour at the summit of the bridge.
Of course, none of that stopped my next door neighbors from having A cookout. They have them nearly every night. And these folks were still outside talking and drinking at the height of the storm.
Saturday and Sunday I cleaned my shop in preparation to bring the Abomination home.
Cleaned house this morning. Burgers and brauts on the grill with friends this earlier today. Now, watching the boys and a couple of neighborhood kids playing on the water slide now.
Thanks to all who gave their lives and those that continue to serve.

Sorry to hear about your grandmother, failboat. You have my condolences. My paternal grandmother passed away last year.
I visited my paternal grandfather today. He is a WWII vet and sadly is succumbing to Alzheimer's. It's tough watching him struggle to remember my name, but he was glad to see me anyways. I'm spending the rest of today at work.
