Earth & Sky Article on Camelopardalids
Article said:
An exciting new meteor shower – the Camelopardalids – might peak this Friday night and Saturday morning (night of May 23-24, 2014), according to clocks in North America. And, although no one can be absolutely sure, mid-latitudes in North America are predicted to have the best view of this shower. It’s coming up soon! This possible shower stems from Comet 209P/LINEAR, discovered in 2004. If the predictions hold true, Earth might be sandblasted with debris from this comet, resulting in a fine display of meteors, or shooting stars on the evening of May 23, and the morning of May 24.
I wonder how it looks through a glass of Cabernet, I shall report later

Planning on getting up at 2 am for this.
I'm working all night, so ordinarily I'd have a good shot at seeing something, but it just started to rain here.
Now if the clouds would only go away.
Semi cloudy here. If I'm still up at midnight and its clear ill see how it looks through some scotch.
Clear as could be here for a change. The wife and I already saw some.
Clear as a bell here and all I got to see was lightning bugs.

I went out at about 11:30 cuz knew I wasn't going to want to go out at 2:30. I think I saw a few, not much. That stinks because, here in MI, when there's a meteor shower to see, it's almost always cloudy.
Baby woke up at 2:20, so I ran outside for a few minutes. Saw one. It was cool. Went back to bed.
I fell asleep in my chair, totally missed it.
Saw one around 11, then set the alarm and got up just after 2AM. Stood out there getting colder and colder for over half an hour, and didn't see a single one. That was annoying.
Went to a clearing in Rock Creek Park about 11, sat and had a couple Negra Modelos w/ Mrs. Motomoron. We stayed out about 1'15" and eventually saw one that was obviously a meteroid. Then we went back home. Whoop whoop.
