Who from Michigan is heading to the Challenge this year. With the new job I will not be able to so, again, I am fubar.
I would like to offer someone a car to drive to Georgia and the gas money to get them there as well as a couple bucks for food.
Let me know if you are heading down by eMail if possible, I have very limited access to the forum during work.
I can come back to michigan and drive the car down to GA for you...it would give me an excuse to visit family...

I'm going to the Challenge. I am enroute to Gainesville. The car JB is trying to move is mine.
I've got several things I'm selling that might interest someone. All my cars are RUST FREE! (REALLY rust free!)
Drivers that would make it back to MI: '91 Metro (nice shape except for 1 fender and the AC), '91 Miata (faded paint, several dings, new top, my DD), 5 spd SVX.
Car that MIGHT make it back to MI: '86 CRX SI (cracked/ loose plastic body panels, smokes, my son's DD)
Cars that would have to be trailered: The Yugo from Hell, Dodge Spirit RT, Lotus Europa, Subaru Justy, 23' camper trailer, '67 Corvair 'vert.
There. THAT should give you guys PLENTY to think about!
You can come to the Challenge, help out a brother, have your trip expenses covered, AND go home with something cool!!

If anyone wants something REALLY cool, I'll sell my '60 El Camino. It would make the trip to MI, be a great adventure, and be your pride and joy for a long time...

I would take that gamble on the CRX, but I don't have a trailer to get the others north...
The CRX would probably make it. My son drives it to work for a 2 hour commute every day. But it is burning oil, and nearing challenging project status. It's not a good candidate for a restoration. If you are thinking about a motor, an ongoing racer project- great car. It belongs to my son, so I can't name the price, but it will be very fair.
I'd take $1500 for either the Metro or the Miata.
Could the Miata tow the Europa? I need it like a disease.

Absolutely. ANYTHNG could tow a Europa.
I could drive one of the drivers (or trailer one of the non-drivers) to the Challenge, and swap there.

Info on the Miata: Red, black interior, 190K, daily driver, no mods, new top, AC doesn't work, black fleck powder coated wheels, CD player. Faded paint and interior, half a dozen dings all around, but no major wreck. Florida car- completely rust free. Does not use oil. It's not perfect, but I would trust it to jump in and go across the country. Or, it would make a neat little racer project.
Hell, son, I'm INTERESTED... but I don't have any money ;) (like permanently for a year or so, I need to buy a house in the D)
