As much as I hate to.. I searched far and wide for a rust free car, but between the economy AND the fact I have my Sister and my Niece coming to live with me in a month and I will need something bigger than this one bedroom... It may be time to part with her.
I have my fingers crossed.. the garage is paid up 6 months in advance.. so if she can get a job to offset the costs of a bigger place, I will not have to lose my roadster, other wise family takes Precidence.
I just wish it was not up to me AGAIN to pick up after my sis.

If shes messing up your life, punch her in the face, but do it cuz shes family and you love her...its how me and my brother handle most of our disagreements (we're both nearly 30)
Am I reading this wrong? You're living in a Fiat?
that would be cheaper.. no, I have a 1 bedroom apartment (one of the benefits of being single) and I rent a garage. Going to a 3 bedroom is going to jump my rent quite a bit (unless I want to live in a really bad area) to where keeping the garage will not be feasable.
Unless she can find a job to offset the costs of the apartment.
Let's just say that my parents spoiled my sis and she is VERY self centred and never really learned that she has to take care of herself and not rely on others to do it.
Like getting a license.. she is 30 and never learned to drive
So explain to us why cleaning up her E36 M3 is your problem again?
Tell her that under no circumstances will you sell your car to better her situation. She didn't have any part in you actually getting the car, i imagine, so why does she get to be the reason to get rid of it?
Buy her a $500 van and make her live out of it.
Why cant she live with the parents ?? Sounds like they like her, I know if I ask (eny of my) parents if I my daughter and I could live with them they would love it !!!
that is a different mess.
Mom, bless her, lives with my VERY eldery grandmother and takes care of her. Elder care can wear anybody down (I am not looking forwards to it)
My Father is a lot like my sis (probably where she gets it from) and has never really owned up to his responsibilities. He is paying to help move her from Chicago back to NJ...
Neither one is in any position to help with a place to stay.
As for my Niece's father.. he and my sis got divorced a number of years ago and they do not talk

Is is a matter of the cost of storing the Fiat or a matter of raising money by selling the Fiat?
If its the former let me know, maybe I can help you out with some storage for awhile.

Move to a two bedroom apartment; your sister and niece sharing one together.
It's way past time for her to take responsibility for her and her child's welfare. It is time for some tough love, though.
It was just a bad situation she was in. After she and her husband broke up, she moved in "with a friend" and they eventually moved to chicago.
The Idiot she moved in with got tossed out of the service for selling Meth and did prison time for it. We warned her about him, and then we warned her about moving almost a 1000 miles away to Chicago (about 800 miles from her nearest relative) and while he never hit her or my niece, I only now found out how verbally and mentally abusive he was to them both.
If I see him again, I will do jail time. (if they catch me)
I may take you up on the storage offer, things are bad, but livable the way they are right now. Once this hits the fan, all bets are off.

My kid sister is in the same boat, at 18 a week outta graduation from high school she moves down twards Tampa, 3 weeks later she comes home and the e36 m3 hits the fan, she's pregnant. Few weeks later she comes home, the trans in her car is shot, her smart @#$@# boy friend tried to fix it for her, (we found out later he was hitting her, attempting to cause a miscarriage) but the trans had so much burnt fluid it was literaly 3 inches from the top of the dipstick, found out he took it to Miami and the trans started acting funny on the way down, so he went ahead and drove down and back, then added fluild when it wouldn't shift outta first. long story short she's been living with my parents for 8 years now. They've paid her credit card bills while she was in college so she wouldn't have to work, gave her a 35,000.00 truck to drive around in which she drove into the ground(140K miles in 4 years), she worked as a graphic designer for a year and got laid off, she's been outta work for a year now, and mom and dad are still supporting her. When I fell on hard times I got to move into an old mobile home on the edge of the property that is falling apart (went through the floor 3 times) and work two jobs to dig my way out, and hopefully I get to back to school in August to finish my degree. Hopefully, heh challenge car building might put that out till January. I feel your pain man. If you were closer I'd offer some storage space, but Florida to Jersey is a bit of a ride to play with your car.
