Meh, if you're old enough to not care what you look like, they are a comfortable ride. Also, sad to say, our Odyssey may be the fastest car we own. If there aren't any curves to even things out, it will flat out smoke my Miata, and give the SE-R a run for its money.

I drive a Volvo turbo wagon.... But I miss the utility of the astro MINIvan

I've had two, miss my Ford Aerostar much. Would own another, but they quit making them back in 97. Oh well.

I got smoked by a 4.3 Astro van full of mexicans the other day. Not a good feeling.

Not exactly a minivan. But it is the first of my many vehicles that my wife will and actually likes to drive.

How's your TC setup in the back? Seats?

We have a '99 Venture LT with a '03 Silhouette two-tone tan leather interior.
I have to admit I like driving it + they haul a ton of crap.

Yes. Plenty of room for 3 adults.

My wife hated the idea of a minivan -- until I convinced her to test-drive the Odyssey (we have an '07). Now it's her favorite vehicle.

The Odyssey's definitely not the fastest vehicle in our fleet though. It might beat the truck (duramax), but the Audi would smoke it, and the Miata smokes the Audi. :)

I would drive a minivan long before I would drive an SUV or truck. Probably because they're just better.

Yeah, the Odyssey is good, but back when we were in the market for a new minivan, we just couldn't get past the $10,000 bump in cost over what we paid for our 2005 MPV-ES. We've been very happy with the MPV. Too bad '05 was the last year they made 'em.

My minivan will serve as car and SUV and truck (while giving me 20-22 MPG), until the day I buy a trailer big enough for the Miata. Then I'll look at something a little more butch.

I should correct myself, 00-04 Odys are almost as cheap as their competition, but mostly because their transmissions were E36 M3e. A friends' is on it's third transmission with 160k on it.

Amen. Bought our '06 Sedona as a leftover model. Paid $17k for it, and it comes loaded with options even in the very base form. We looked at leftover Odysseys and Siennas. They're both better minivans overall, but even for a base model leftover, we couldn't touch one for less than $25k. Most were optioned up, and the sticker was $30k+. I've got 3 little kids, and we use it to haul them around. So we've got the obligatory french fries, juice stains, muddy shoe prints, etc...all over it. I'd be pretty damn mad if I had done that to a $30k minivan.

We've hauled Christmas trees, furniture, trailered cars, a landscape trailer full of whatever, and more with it. No need for a big truck just yet...when I do...conversion van here I come!!
