I don't think he knows yet. I spoke with the owner directly this morning, bypassing him entirely.
This just feels great, I have been very loyal over the last 20 years, long before the GM came about, and I left on good terms even though I will be the competition.
Leaving on good terms is important to me because I don't want my team to feel like they have to choose their allegiance to the owner vs. me, I love my guys and I couldn't do that to them. I have already told them that I will miss working with them, and they have all expressed in their own way the same. It is tough leaving a team that works so well together and supports each other in all aspects of the job of "getting E36 M3 done".
They do NOT look like they're congaing- they look like they're "congaing".
I'm thankful that the 911 ran perfectly for my wife all summer while I was away with the kids. On that same note, I'm thankful for the same wonderful wife that let's me drive 1500 miles north every summer so that the kids can spend every day on the beach instead of the steamy hell that is east Texas in the summer. She's amazing and selfless.

I'm very thankful that I have the ability to walk into a store, ask for a job and get hired immediately, and start just 3 days later (drug test), making an almost inordinate amount of money=]
I should finally be able to have internet, a motorcycle, and health insurance!
now I just gotta make it through the next month or so to get caught up!
hope this one goes better than the last 2 ... good luck
Thank you, I like it a lot so far.
It's not a very nice shop, they are missing some stuff that is necessary imo, but I still like it. 12 hour days here are still miles better than an 8 hour day at Nissan. And I like all the people I work with. And I'm actually being treated as a valued employee lol
Thankful for my latest job opportunity. I hope it works out.
Came home to some very good things, made my 12 hours of work with no breaks a little more bearable:
My wife is now officially a Lawful Permanent Resident of the US, she got her conditions removed FINALLY after a ridiculous and arduous process.
The episodes of Top Gear I bought on iTunes (pt 1 and 2 of the Africa Special from S19) finally downloaded!!!
edit: I did not italicize my first point, not sure why it's there but I like it
I passed the trucking school's range test today! Now we begin road training and preparing for the state CDL driver exam.
Two months ago I was working three part time jobs. Now I have one berkeleying awesome job, and the bills are getting paid.
Thank you, Universe. You rock.
Nothing here to whine about, full belly and thankful for it. Everything else is gravy.

I'm thankful no one was behind me when the straps loosened up on my trailer and two tires bailed out on me. Really thankful.
Congrats to all! Me, I'm just happy that 1) the Curmudgeonling and the rest of my fam' dambly are happy and healthy 2) I'm gainfully employed 3) I get to play with cars 4) LeMons is coming around again.
The brewing company I have been trying to get a job with wants to schedule a THIRD phone conversation with me for later this week!

good luck ... seems like you could use it .. job wise
Two weeks notice is in!
Got job offer a week ago in the phone conversation I mentioned above. Healthy pay bump, lower cost of living, no more nights shifts, more influence. We agreed on a start date and they are cool with me taking multiple trips to ferry all my cars and stuff across country. Fiancee is feeling good about the situation, particularly now that she realizes I orchestrated everything so we will have a full month together with me free of the stresses of the current job.
My sister and BIL arrived last night from British Columbia, my brother and his family arrives today from Toronto and I go to the airport to pick up my parents this afternoon. Thankful that I have my entire family together for the weekend. It's nice to be my age and still have everyone.
....and, my son didn't make it through the 90 day probation period at his new job. They promoted him to supervisor yesterday.
Meeting/Interview at Nissan went very well today. Plus the Service Director is a dead ringer for Clint Eastwood, so you can't really go wrong=]

I get paid this week, so I can buy some toys.
My grandfather had a small stroke last week, and was supposed to be in the hospital until the weekend, but they discharged him early.
I was surprised when I was over to visit on Sunday that he was up and walking unassisted, and only needed help to open a jar. (Left side was affected, he's still kinda weak but otherwise, fine)
He's hoping to get his driving privileges back this week, not too shabby for a guy who's pushing 90.
In reply to Racer1ab:
The best thing they can do is send him home if he is mobile. We got my wife up and moving right away and it made a huge difference. The more he moves and does the better his recovery will be.

Thankful for my new job where I get to work from home. Thankful for the new house. Thankful that I made it out of MN before winter hit (although I've already been back for work, and will be back again)

Thankful that the girlfriend got a job! And it is near me!
thankful that living in a real city allows me to see some pretty funny E36 M3 from time to time:
1) Saw a homeless guy outside Target yesterday digging for butts in the ash tray. He came away with a pretty good haul judging by the humongous grin on his face. His giant trenchcoat opened briefly to disclose the fact he had a portable CD player. Saw him at the bus stop when we were leaving dancing like Napoleon Dynamite with people around him. It was awesome to see someone that happy lol
2)kia sportage came in on a tow truck. Lady said "I want an alignment and some rims"
lmfao
She wrecked it. Bent the subframe. Front wheels are noticeably toed in (I'd guess about 10* toe in each) Brake line is BROKEN. no brakes at all. But she wants some RIMZZ
Got a job offer! Woohoo! I know I was looking to relocate, but this is pretty nice. It's got a little more pay than I'm making now, defined milestones with associated pay increases (in writing), a shorter commute and telecommuting on Fridays.
I'm thankful I didn't get called into work today like I thought I would.
This also means that the other tech is okay (called out yesterday, went to dr for High Blood pressure and some other misc) =]
Finally get a day off! Work wednesday then off Thursday with holiday pay.
*Scratch that, going in at noon. Here comes day 7.
