In my experience, he will reply 3 days later saying that he sold the car the day before.
It's wild how often that happens.
What happens in those 45 seconds after you say "great, I'll take it, when can we meet?"
In reply to dan0 and Spearfishin:
That's why I try and convey that I want to see the item immediately, like what dan0 did. In my mind, I feel that it shows I'm serious. If they don't respond in a few hours, it shows that they aren't serious and it's probably better to just move on.
I've had looooots of my time wasted unfortunately.
Dear companies selling cool electronics kits:
I do not want a subscription. A subscription to "kits" is not a normal thing. Don't act like it is. I want to buy a specific thing and enjoy it. Just sell me that specific thing. Take my money.

I thought that the garage door opener got all out of kilter because the chain was too loose, but while I was gone it happened again. I thought the chain was jumping but what actually happens is that the little gear that tells the opener how open or not open the door is doesn't have good engagement with the drive shaft. There's a little bushing or bearing at the top of the shaft that had worn, causing the shaft to be pulled forward, leaving the gears in light contact. Fortunately, a new drive shaft and gear assembly was under $20 with delivery tomorrow.
Well got a reply, he lives in the next town over but originally from NJ. In the pictures the car has a NJ plate. He messaged me saying he's working on getting the title overnighted up to CT. So things are looking up. Fingers crossed...
In reply to dan0 :
Good news. At least he is trying to get the title.
In reply to Ashyukun (Robert) :
What SciFi series was it? That sounds familiar...

Dropped my 2013 tractor off to have the leaking front output seal replaced, this job requires the tractor to be split.
When I got home, I smelled oil and discovered that my 2019 Chevrolet likely has a rear main seal leak. Hope it's covered by the extended warranty.
2025 sucks so far.

There is a limit to how many untrained people I can afford.
It seems like you are drowning in work and have the market cornered - raise prices, afford to train more people?
That works to a point. I'm already running two trucks with helpers when I only really need one. That costs me about $55k per year for a guy to ride around in a truck to learn the ropes. It has to be done but it's not cheap.
We are already the most expensive door company in the area. We get away with it because of the quality of work we do and the skill we have in integrating door hardware, door automation, and security and getting those systems to play together nicely. I use a lot of that to pay the guys more, but there's a fine line between charging too little and charging too much and the only person who knows where that line is is the customer. I get to guess. Another reason I have gray hair.
