At my last one they used a different drug where I stayed awake but didn't care about what was going on, I didn't like that method as much.
I'm surprised they let you leave by cab - the place I go to requires I bring a person along who will be the driver, they have to check in and wait for me.
I was awake for most of it, but didn't care. I slept through the one 4 years ago.
My daughter picked me up, the taxis were used to get me to the wrong place, then to the correct one, just in time.
