Two days. Two revolving doors. That, in a town which only has 7-8 of them.

One is 16 years old, and the manufacturer no longer supports it. No drawings or electrical diagrams are available because the manufacturer has pitched them. That means we have to "figure it out." The manufacturer, in their infinite wisdom, used a light tan wire for everything low voltage and signal. That takes an already difficult job and makes it take even longer. After 9 hours, it appears to be a shorter nose sensor.

The other is 36 years old. Parts are mostly still available however, it hasn't met safety standards in 20 years, and I won't touch it without bringing it up to standards. Naturally, they have now run it into the ground with zero maintenance, and it either needs a major and expensive overhaul to repair the problem and add 10 additional safety sensors, or it needs to be replaced. That is going to take an enormous amount of time.

I really don't like revolvers. They are a maintenance nightmare. Worse, they are a lawsuit looking for some little old lady to run over and break a hip.

But, nobody else will work on them either, so...$$$$$

Had a password leak into a group chat today because of a damaged laptop flex cable.

Laptop screen was blacked out and I'd need to spend a minute fiddling with the hinge angle to get the screen to work again, I didn't have time to fiddle and needed to put the laptop in sleep mode and close it quickly, I felt certain it would be on a lock screen so I typed in the unlock password, hit enter, and hit the sleep hotkey. Laptop went to sleep. Seemed good right? Well it wasn't on a lock screen, it was unlocked, a couple hours later my password is in the last group chat I had open.

Luckily it was a low-level password that would only work on a couple of specific local logins but still pretty pissed.

In other news.

I received a letter from the IRS today.

They have accepted my S Corp election that was filed in 2021. I will be treated as an S Corp starting January 1st 2022.

The letter was dated 4/14/2025. Only 3 years later.

Way to stay on the ball, guys! Good job!

Go ahead, hold my last check ransom for another week while you "verify all equipment was turned in", dick wipe. While you're at that go ahead and try to gaslight me into thinking this is my fault for "not giving you ample notice". I didn't give you notice so you couldn't fire me two days into my "last two weeks". Eat a dick, you're a E36 M3ty accountant that shouldn't be anywhere near a management position or in manufacturing.

Instance companies are a pain in the ass, and have policies that are one size fits all.

Im looking to reduce insurance cost and moving some vehicles away from Flo. Unfortunately the options are limited since one of the vehicles is a 2021 Sportage.

Apparently the insurance companies lump it in with the forte and other models that were easy to steal, even though it had push button start so it's not susceptible to the methods used.

Even though its push button start, they won't provide coverage for comprehensive or collision.

The values is still high and tariffs haven't started bumping up Kia prices, so I'm considering trading it in on a Sportage hybrid, just to get away from the insurance issue with this one. Im concerned about the possibility that in the future I may not be able to find anyone to cover it for more than liability at a reasonable rate.

I've done something very similar!  I went to use my computer and I thought it was locked since the monitors had blanked.  So I just hit enter then typed my password and hit enter again.  When my monitors had warmed up, I noticed that in fact the browser tab that had Google's Messenger for Web was the one with focus and I had just sent a professional contact my somewhat unprofessional password.  Whoops.

USPS better deliver my parts tomorrow. "Shipped" Wednesday from within the state. Usually from FCP EuroI'll see them the next day. Really want to get the Avant back together. Most frustrating progress actually showed them leaving Springfield MA this morning. Usually meaning they arrive at my post office by 9am for delivery. But no such luck.

I'm not grumpy the price is 14.99.  I'm grumpy because the price on the shelf says 6.99. And I'm really grumpy you said 'oh well I guess it's wrong".   And then when I get home I see you didn't enter my discount card... so found it at another store for 10.99, so this is getting returned.
