Still looking for a room for the Mitty? The nearby Hampton Inn still has rooms available, and Classic Motorsports has secured a great group rate: about $110 per night plus tax. Call (770) 965-0357 and book under the Classic Motorsports or CMS block. The Hampton Inn, located at 4660 Holland Dam Road in Flowery Branch, Georgia is only 8 miles from Road Atlanta.

God I wish I could go. At least I planted the seed in my wife's brain to do this - maybe next year the son will be old enough and we'll have enough money to do this!

Definitely put it on a "MUST DO" list. The Mitty is probably my favorite motorsport event, even over Petite LeMans.
This year, we're camping to get the full effect

What kind of car you got ? passenger seat open?
TR 6 but don't know if I'm going or not. Possible schedule conflict.

I often forget how far people travel to this. Since it's a 5 minute drive for me, and I typically sleep in my own bed, I consider it a local event.
Might explain why we've never seen you at the Flyin' Miata Summer Camp then
1900 miles from my place - I'm glad not to be driving out this year.
I'm in. Not like I was in 2010 (VIP tix, brought the offspring & her friends), but I'm in. SWMBO is working, but is finding child care. "It's your birthday week. GO!", she says.
If any of you can afford the track touring sessions--do it, especially if you're bringing a non-racing friend/spouse/ummfriend/whatever to the track. My black Corrado's a mess (as far as suspension settings go), but it was fun.
Here's my daughter's video, that's kcbhiw's AWD Tracer he built for the 2008 Challenge in front of us.

Are those parade laps ? Touring laps are a little faster ? 2009 laps in the Supra

Yeah. Touring laps are closer to a PDX (and a leftover from the old "Walter Mitty Challenge" ). I just took the parade laps because I had the kids in the car, the autoX setup, and street pads/fluid.
EDIT: My bad, Karl..I just realized I said "touring" instead of "parade" in my previous post.
See ya at the taco stand!
Don't forget your wristbands, shiny happy people.
Big Biker wingding goin on next door < Taco joint getting a shake down . Good friends of the family stopped by .
Just testing to make sure I can post from my fancy noo phone.
wow... how cool is this...I just found out I have to be in Braselton this same weekend to drop a P car off at a shop right next door to the track. 8)
