Meh, my '89 escort GT I wrecked in high school was basically hit the same way, just on the other side.
Hit the fuel pump reset button and drove it home after getting my ticket.
Side impact in the passenger compartment of a FWD doesn't really mess with the drivetrain too much.
The door sill and b pillar are pushed in about a foot. That's true that it mostly missed the important parts though, although in slightly surprised none of the drivetrain mounts broke.
I agree with her.. that is one scary looking car
