I needed some trophies for Explore the Shore. I have scrap parts everywhere, this should be easy.
Yugo pistons, vw transaxle gears, weld, paint....I like 'em

Entirely too labor intensive to be cost effective, but could probably be streamlined. The difficult part is finding a ready supply of junk parts (although around here I guess that wouldn't be a problem)
Very nice! I really do not have any delusions about winning one but I think anyone would be proud to have one of those on the shelf.
One issue; Having grown up on the Jersey Shore I really do not recall seeing very many palm trees...

My wife often says the same, but there are SOME palm trees. They are just imported and planted on the beach for the summer.
Honestly I thought about doing one of the piers with a roller coaster or ferris wheel but I have limited artistic capabilities.

You, Sir, do have a valid point and I concede you that.
It sure beats reactor silos or dolphin carcasses.
Minor squabbles aside, those are pretty sweet!
Very LeMonny...looking forward to it! Again, no delusions about winning one; heck, I'll be thrilled if we make it tot he end on time!

Heck I was trying to get the Asphault Adventures logo on them and realized that's just waaay beyond my talent level. I needs some practice :)
Airbrush? I got my S/O one for Christmas a couple of years back but she hasn't had time to try it out yet.

Yep, nothing fancy. Eastwood knockoff of an Iwata design I think. Works fairly well.
Been sitting on a shelf for years and I recently decided to dust it off and start using it on projects. Very much a learn as you go kind of affair but it's fun to work with.
We have a traveling trophy for our local autocross region similar to this. It's the 'nuts and bolts' award that consists or a bent rod and half of a piston mounted to a plaque and it goes to whomever had the largest mechanical failure of the season lol
Great use of old parts for a very cool trophy :D
I don't know what "Explore the Shore" is, but now I want to enter and win it just to take one of those sweet trophies home.

Asphault Adventures' Explore the Shore
Unfortunately registration is closed for this event. The 5 day Saints 2 Sinners Adventure next July is the next planned event but there may be some more 1 and 3 day events in the spring since ETS was received much better than planned
You'll need to log in to post.
