I can't stand the little d-bag "fauxhawk" that some guys wear.

That cut tells me that you want to be independant (just like everyone else is) in a manner of a haircut statement (just like everyone else), but are too weak to go the whole way.
Basically a weak lemming. yay.
I had a Mohawk for a very brief time in 1988.
Then I pretty much rocked a crew cut for the next 20 years. I'm considering going back to the crew cut.

If you look in the member photos thread there's a pretty funny mention of this. I think its the angle the picture was taken from. (BTW, your photo didn't link)

I call it the suto-hawk.
In reply to bravenrace:
I assume you mean Mohawk and not the suto mentioned above...
I've gotten plenty of jobs and I do the suto for the interviews. It looks professional IMO.

Kind of, yeah but the top further back. More like Bozo. Which is why I don't do it.

No, I mean both. Maybe it's okay for your generation, but for me it just looks plain stupid. And while I have no doubt you've gotten plenty of jobs with it, I wonder why you've needed "plenty of jobs". But seriously, I can tell you that while I've never interviewed anyone with a mohawk, I have interviewed several guys with the hair cut above, and I've never hired any of them. Sorry, not trying to offend you, just expressing my honest opinion Then again, when I was young I wore a mullet for a while in college. But I got a regular hair cut by the time I was interviewing for jobs.
In reply to bravenrace:
Haaaaa. Mullet. Yea, I can do my hair many ways and what you said is helpful. No offense taken.
But yes. I'm trying to get a job as a cop and passed an oral board with a suto-hawk. I'll ask around and see what people think. Should be interesting.

Some guys pay good money for that haircut. That's just how my hair looks when I wake up in the morning. One side of your head on the pillow for a few hours, then the other, and voila!
One day, you gents will realize that by the time you have chosen a hairstyle, it is hopelessly lame and out of fashion, due to the fact you have chosen it. Give up. You cannot win.
meh... pony tail stays at least until summer... then gets lopped off for locks-of-love... if I wasn't I'd cut it into a mullet for a while...
and my son rocks the fauxhawk from time to time... love it on my lil 7 y/o :)

Because nobody wanted to insult dirtybird?

reminds me of a certain scene in "There's Something About Mary"..
also, watch CMT for a half hour and you will run out of fingers before you count all of the generic background musicians in the videos that have that particular haircut- and every one of them is also doing the "duckface" because apparently those are signs of rebellion- but not too much rebellion- to country music people..

The Faux-hawk goes all the way down the head, not just in front.
I used to be a big advocate of the Faux-hawk, then realized that shaving my head is easier.
And also in today's society, is a much bigger taboo than the Faux-hawk if you're under the age of 40.
