Anyone ever take one of the CL clowns up on their offer for a car listed for 1$? I do mean take them to small claims court and make them sell it for that price... I can't help but wonder if it would actually work.....

Just put a $50 minimum in your search to weed out all that crap. I don't think you would get far in court as all the ones I've seen like that have an actual reasonable price listed in the ad.
or on the windshield of the car.... misleading. But probably not actionable.
One of the critical flaws with any action on such an issue is that, 1) usually by the time a hearing is held, the item has been sold and the issue therefore moot, and 2), you have to prove how you were damaged by their refusal to sell you the car. There is more to it than "offer + acceptance =k."
always exceptions to the rule, but I'd say about 10 times out of 10 that one is gonna be a loser.
I just flag them and move on. Its even better when they put up response ads complaining about being flagged, like they don't even get why it happened...
Flagging doesn't work. In my area, and I assume in many others, there are dealers that list the same car 20 or 30 times, usually with the down payment listed instead of the price. They even use different and sometimes fictitious locations. I've flagged them and flagged them and nothing happens. Now I just do my best to get around it and move on. Like Nova said, life's too short to get caught up in that stuff.
