I've got a collection of rather gory WWII pics found in a family member's house. So gory that no one else would take them. The worst parts of human history must be remembered so we don't repeat them.

Well we did too until they disappeared. Either my brother or sister have them and deny it. Apparently soldiers like my dad would trade photos.
Very cool pics. I'm sure my great grandpa helped put together some of those P-40s, he worked at the Buffalo factory.

Or, the cargo in one of those gliders. That pic of the Market Garden LZ showed more than a few crashes and lots of smoke from a couple that went way wrong.

Market-Garden was scary - it's amazing how close we got to losing a war that was well on its way to being over at that point.
